Now that Silverstone is out the way, the main focus from the MGF Register is on getting MGFest08 all sorted. We are struggling for a couple of volunteers to take on fully the organising of a couple of the activities.
The following don't currently have anyone in charge of them...
Reverse Steer
Team Challenges
Is there anybody who is a willing volunteer to take one of these on? I would suggest that you choose the reverse steer as it is the easiest, plus we in SMS would probably rather have you on our team for the Team Challenges!
I can give you some advice/assistance with regard to the reverse steer, but I won't be able to design or test the course as I will be defending my title!
Willing volunteers, please step forward ASAP! I know other reps/cttee members are asking in their areas, so hopefully we will find someone.

I'm happy to get stuck in with whatever needs organising. I'll say the same thing I said 3 pages ago (a month or so ago) that I'll be part of the challenge team...but no one's noticed ...must be because I'm the shy retiring type - that or you've seen the shape I'm in and decided you'd be better off without me

I think he wants chiefs in this instance - your offer to be an Indian was noted by myself and Maxine!

Ally, so does that mean you are happy to be 'in charge' of the reverse steer? Like I said, I can help to a certain extent, but I do have to be careful as I will be a competitor.

Ok, if they haven't found anyone then I will put you forward. Tim has some ideas that he would like included in the course, and there are the rules that need to be changed for this year, so that we don't have some of the problems we had last year. Will chat with you about it at our next pub meet.dressur wrote:scubastewart wrote:Ally, so does that mean you are happy to be 'in charge' of the reverse steer? I get paid to organise things - and to build showjumping courses - so I'm sure it'd be a breeze!
As for changing the rules - as I said - Im a woman - nuff said!
Any sabotage would be universal btw - although possibly gender specific!

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Ok, I have just put you forward in the committee area. Would be a great help. You will be given a 'goody bag' for your help!!
It is a serious competition this one, it had the biggest trophy last year, so we have to get it right, or people will complain! Is one of the easiest to organise though. Will chat about it in a couple of weeks time.

Don't worry!! If I can organise a national riding festival - I can organise a reverse steer competition! Might not be quite as good at returning the car to it's parking bay as you though!

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Will it be a goody bag full of Dutch racing drivers?
dressur- Registered user
Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
That's ok, no need to with this one! It would likely be 2 laps and parking by the driver. No end of session when you hit a cone, you just count up the total number of cones hit. Lowest wins! If a few on same score, then a tie breaker, which will need to be run differently from last year. Plus a few other rules. The way I did it at silverstone was done just to give people a taster, and we couldn't waste the time of getting people to try and put the car back!
As for the goody bag, it might!

Ok, that's done. Have you sorted out your ticket yet? if not, and you are only going to come for the one day for the Sunday, then I can sort you out with a special priced ticket, due to a group booking I am doing for my OxfordMG lot.Matto 180 wrote:Please put me down as a General Attendee (likely to be the Sunday).

Stew, I haven't got a ticket yet and I will probably be coming with the family too, will that make a difference?

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Ok, not sure how big the family is!!!
If you sort out your own tickets in advance, they would be Adult £8, Child (5-16yrs) £6, Family (2 adults, 3 children) £25. Plus a £1.50 admin/booking fee.
If you do it through me, it will be £6 each. That's it. So, work out what is cheapest for you, and let me know if you want me to add you to the OxfordMG booking.
**** Anyone else reading this, this is for 1 day tickets for the Sunday only, due to a group booking for OxfordMG ****
If you want any other type of tickets, particularly weekend tickets, then you will need to make your own booking, For details on MGFest and tickets, please see www.mgfest.co.uk
