I think the deal at the moment is that volunteers will get a goodie bag which will contain some limited edition items, but it won't be free entry, as we just don't have the funds to cover them. Also, volunteers will be expected to actually do their bit, unlike last year when we had lots of people wandering around in high vis jackets, but not really doing much, and often some people only had their name down for a 1 hour stint of work over the whole weekend! We will have less volunteers this year, but expect a good few hours work from them! We just have to be very careful about the expense of an event like this, and can't afford to give away too much, but we do want to show our appreciation to the volunteers that do work!

Just so you don't think it's the committee keeping free tickets for ourselves, I have to pay for my camping etc. and of course I will be working the whole time, but the other few free tickets we have will go to the exhibitors that will be giving up their vehicles for the displays, and that's about it! Every person that goes on site at HMC has to have a ticket and they want the money for those.

Hope that makes sense. I will probably be looking to ask for volunteers shortly, and will let you all know what the deal is when we get to that stage. However, go ahead and book your tickets (and fill in your competition entry!), as if we did give free tickets, then you would get a refund, but knowing what the budget is, I think it unlikely.

I am afraid I can't make Fest this year Sad

My son is getting married that weekend on the Isle of Wight to a New Zealand girl. It was the only date her family could get to come to the UK for the event. I can't miss it as I am Best Man.

Dave, I am truly gutted.... Last year with yourself, Moira and Matt was such a laugh, and what am I going to do without Moira cooking for me all weekend! Who am I going to sit and chat to whilst enjoying my afternoon G&T!

Well, I suppose you have a good excuse, but you really will be missed. Can't they have the wedding nearer to Gaydon!
