Yeah, very basic ones. I am going via Silverstone if that is the best way?
Ally, I can meet you along the way if you want? Plan to leave around 3ish

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Max, Silverstone way is probably the simplist:
Join the M40 at junction 10 or 11 and head north for Birmingham.
Leave at junction 12, left at the top of the slip road, then right at the roundabout and the heritage centre is about half a mile on the left.
Darren.

It's dead easy Max-shall we meet there? I'll leave at 3ish too and see you there unless you want to hook up for a mini convoy!

Thats great thanks....So it's the A43 (Silverstone) to the M40 to Oxford, then onto the M40?
If we time it right Ally we could meet on the way

I'll pull off at J10 and meet you at the first garage I come to on the A43!

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Max, hopefully you'll see this before you leave today. When you go down via Silverstone, be sure to take the correct turning when you reach Brackley. You need the A422, M40 North. This will let you join the M40 at junction 11. Don't go the way we usually do down to J10, it'll add another 8 miles to your journey!
Map
Personally, I would go up the M1 to J16, head through Weedon, then Daventry and on to Southam on the A425. That goes East to West and saves 15 miles! That's the way I always go.
Map
I thought you had SatNav now anyway!!!!

Feedback & Photos
Well, I have to say I really enjoyed MGFest today (Sunday) and thought there was a great turnout of cars.
Congratulations to Team SmS for the runners up in the games and I hope Stewart managed to get back OK with all the extra weight of trophies he acquired
Here are a few photos I took
Fingers crossed for MGFest09

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Some really nice pics there Matto!
As for MGFest09, there is quite alot being discussed on the MGF Register forum committee section at the moment and I have to say that the feedback so far is rather negative. The sad thing is that I agree with most of what has been said and it is quite clear that the general reaction from visitors to the event is that they wouldn't bother coming again if it was the same organisation and the same venue. We'll just have to see how the wash-up committee meeting goes and see if this event, which I personally believe needs to be saved, will move forward, taking on the comments that those people that matter have made. Watch this space, as they say...

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Well as my first 'Fest visit i was slightly underwhelmed about the whole thing.
Admittedly i was still seething about fridays revelations which didn't help matters, but expected more, no idea what exactly but.......................and i don't think i was the only one either
But met some wicked people, and finally got to put names (and cars) to faces, prob. shoulda got more drunk but i think Max was drinking for everyone!!!

You mean I drank, danced, sang, played guitar, played tamberine, laughed and star gazed for everyone!!?

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Flippin' 'eck. Give me a chance! I've been hard at it over the weekend and straight back into work 7.30am yesterday morning. The August pub meet has been on the website since the day after it was confirmed. I'm just waiting for Stewart to confirm details of the Brit-Ball Run send off as that's the next event we'll be attending. It'll be updated this week...PaulMGTF160 wrote:Rich are you going to update the site fro Fest and the July Pub meet?

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
I didn't get to take many pics, but I've asked Adrian clifford if I can use some of his as he took hundreds! He's going to send me a CD with them all on. As for pics from July pub meeting, my camera didn't come out for that. Not very exciting taking pics of a rain sodden pub car park...

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
Now that's a good question... I honestly don't know! I guess we'll just have to wait until the results are on the F Reg forum. On my last visit to the F Reg stand, there were alot of votes in the box. But after that, I never heard anything about it! Perhaps Stewart knows...

Re: MGFest08 - 26th/27th July 2008
I think fastjan won something on the photo comp, not sure if it was winner or runner up. One of my OxfordMGOC people won the runner up in the non f/tf category, it was tony Cotter (rich, you might remember it was the wing mirror shot i sent you).
