It's pics of cars right? I think Wriggly will not be taking part due to extreme scruffiness in that case!
Hey Ally, don't put Wriggly down, looking very smart now with new bonnet. Perhaps we could do a pic of the 5 charcoal cars then?

There's a thought - perhaps we should resurrect the chav banners!!

Excellent idea! We'll leave the chav embelishments (sp) off though this time. Mind you, we did have a sixth charcoal car at Fest who apparently claimed to Curgs that he was an SmS member. Didn't recognise the plate or see the driver though...

Re: My annual brilliant idea
Glad you kept it... but it could be getting rather inaccurate going by all these little jobs you're doing!
I was just thinking that although the calendar will be pushed on .org, do we really want the cars to look too chavvy? It might get embarrassing!

Sorry but I'm not going to get the draft page done tonight. I'm totally knackered and I'm heading off to bed. However, I've made good progress so I'm sure I'll have something for you to look at tomorrow night if you're about.

Re: My annual brilliant idea
Sorry again. Still haven't finalised the design. Had something close but changed my mind.
However...
I do have other news that might benefit us. I've been asked by Tim Morris, Chair of the F Reg, whether I'd like to take the official F Reg Calendar to it's fruision (sp) as I did the photo competition for Fest. Although I'd want to keep the two totally seperate, we could possibly get a better price for ours if both are printed by the same people!

Re: My annual brilliant idea
No worries Rich. Not sure if doing both calendars will make much cost difference using the company that I know, as it tends to be 'per design'. However, may help with costs if we look at some others. Lets decide once we get the design sorted and I can send it round to some.

Re: My annual brilliant idea
Hi guys, I was reading .Org last night and saw that a few people on there were wanting to buy a calander in memory of Dee. I posted that we were doing on here - http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=257816 And then I got a PM from Carl saying this. What do you guys want to do, and what should my reply to him be?
Do you want to run with one calendar for the sportsters group and .org or you ok for me to look at doing a .org if there is enough support ?
also who are you looking at for printing it ? i was looking at these people http://www.colourcalendars.com/content/view/23/40/ they seam the cheapest
cheers CARL

Re: My annual brilliant idea
Is there enough of a market for two? If we think so I would prefer to do our own because my original thought was to put us in funds as well as commemorating Dee.

That's fine by me...I was just thinking of being able to raise more money. But I understand where your coming from.

Re: My annual brilliant idea
We'll continue with Plan A as we do need to generate funds for ourselves as well as for Dee's charity. If we get enough interest from .org, they can always order ours, but we would have to make it clear about our fundraising aspect. However, if we get a huge amount of orders, we may be able to donate more anyway.M77XNE wrote:daved wrote:Is there enough of a market for two? With regards to a market for two, we're already going to have two as I'm also doing the MGF Register one (mentioned previously)! Obviously, profits from that one are purely for the register. And I'm hoping we won't be outsold by it. I'm sure all our members will be buying the SmS calendar...

How you getting on with the design Rich? Any chance of seeing an example at the meet tomorrow?

Re: My annual brilliant idea
Just making some final tweaks now. I'll have a single month ready for an example of a page. As a sample, I've done the current month with a pic of Matto's car.

Re: My annual brilliant idea
Sorry about the quality of the sample I brought today. A combination of a dying inkjet cartridge and a laminator not up to temperature were the cause for that. Anyhow, it is now available as a pdf so you can see it as it's supposed to be... Click here to have a peek!

Female farmers? Let's see
I liked the calendar too but it would better if it was an F on the page. A nice platinum silver one

Re: My annual brilliant idea
So, are we happy with the design? If so, can we all get our pictures across to Rich ASAP. The sooner we do this the cheaper it will be and the more money we can then raise from it.
Could start a list of what pictures are down for what month, and then we can make sure that Rich ends up with the 12 he needs. Rich, I'm emailing you my one now!
