Fitting Fog Lights
Ok, so now the brakes and aircon are sorted, I need to get around to fitting the fog lights on the ZS.
Anybody got any pics of where all the bolts and fixing points are for the front bumper?
Any particular sequence for removing bolts and fastenings?
Finally, anyone got a spare fog light relay and or rear/front fog light switch? trying to minimise my spending for a while as I still need £50+ for the mudflaps

Re: Fitting Fog Lights
I have a spare mgf mk1 front foglight switch somewhere if they are the same as on the zs?

Re: Fitting Fog Lights
It's a 'bumper off' job I'm afraid. The places where the holes for bolts need to go are marked on the inside. Basically, they go through the bottom and behind the removable bump strips. The wires should be clipped up and easily found with the bumper removed. The switch is a front/back fog combination and unique the the 400/45/ZS/Honda Civic of the same age. The relays are, I think, the same across the MGR range of the same age.
Switch on ebay HERE... and it's 'Buy it now' for £4
Relay on eBay HERE... with a 'Buy it now' for £3.95
Hope that helps!

Re: Fitting Fog Lights
Good ebay spots Rich, I bought both of them, cheers! Definitely cheaper than paying £40 for a switch!
It was the bolts/fixings for removing the bumper I was looking for info on. Presumably you drop the wheel arch liner and there are bolts (or screws?) joining the bumper to the lower edge of the wing? Are there bolts behind the removable bump strips?
Cheers

Yeah, one bolt on each side behind the liners, close to the indicators. No bolts behind the strips, just along the top and bottom. Very easy to do and it's surprisingly light so easy to lift off on your own.

OK, sounds like it should not be a problem then. I think I may also take the Leon splitter of the TF and put it onto the ZS bumper while I have it off the car.
The guy I bought the splitter off had already cut it to fix but has cut away too much in some places but you would not see on the ZS the same as on the TF.
Thanks again for spotting the switch and relay, came to exactly £12 for both including postage.

Re: Fitting Fog Lights
OK, got the fog lights on the ZS today and fitted the Leon splitter to the ZS as well.
Took me quite a bit longer than it should have as I had to keep stopping to shove everything under the car and take the extension lead and power tools inside every time we had a downpour.
It's been raining ever since I finished so will take a pic tomorrow, though of course, everyone knows what a set of fog lights and a splitter looks like

Re: Fitting Fog Lights
Good work mate glad you got it all fitted, now you just have to wait 5 months for some fog

Re: Fitting Fog Lights
True but at least the front of the car looks better with lights there instead of the oval outlines!
Actually I use the fogs on the TF quite a bit on country roads. Partly because the lights on the TF are so bad and partly because it really anoys Lee when I turn up with the fogs turned on
Headlights on the ZS are pretty good though so will just have to wait for the fog!
If it had not been for the weather I would have got it done pretty quick everything came apart and went back together as it should with no problem, although I did forget that while I had the bumper off I was going to check out the washer pump for rear wash/wipe - oh well.
