Kimbolton Charity Classic - 10th July 2011
Event details:
Following the success of last year's attendance at this event, we're doing it again! Organised jointly by the Sporting Bears Motor Club and the Kimbolton Rotary Club, the event comprises a Country Fayre and a Classic & Sportscar Show and it's all to raise money for various nominated childrens' charities. Held in the grounds of Kimbolton Castle (now a school), there's something for everyone. One particular feature the Sporting Bears regulary run is the Dream Rides, where for a small fee you can be whisked up the road in one of a selection of prestige sportscars, ranging from TVRs to Ferraris! Have a look at their website HERE for full details of the event.
Click HERE for a slideshow of pics from last year.
As last year, we'll be joined by members of Brit-Cars and Tony is already promoting the event over on their forum. I've confirmed a space for our stand with 25 cars. Tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis. For those exhibiting, the discounted entry charge is £8 per car. I've got the passes coming to get you in and payment is made on arrival at the event.
Convoy details:
For those travelling from the Northants side, we'll be meeting at The Priory in Wellingborough, just of the big roundabout on the A45 (NN8 2LF), for a 9.30am departure so please be there before then. I will hand out the tickets for each car and you'll pay on entrance to the event (£8 per car).
There is possibly a convoy from the Cambs/Beds side too if numbers allow. PM Iain (Captain Slow) if you're interested in meeting up somewhere.

We'll aim to join the convoy from the west unless someone is needed to take passes to the eastern meeting point on the day, in which case I'm happy to volunteer.

Yes, definitely interested in this one and would join the Northants convoy.

I'm defininately interested-this was a highlight last year.
Obviously I'll be coming up the A1 kind of way-so I'd be interested in a Beds convoy should it happen.

No probs. How do you fancy organising the east convoy? Bearing in mind you may have one or two from Cambs, from over on Brit-Cars.Captain Slow wrote:I'm defininately interested-this was a highlight last year.

Any idea which car will be joining us or could you bring both now Emma is legally mobile?

I can organise if you want me to...can you give me some idea of where in Cambs the other chaps are coming from?
Unlikely we'll be bringing both being as Emma now isn't insured on the MGF-however it's the sort of day my Dad may enjoy, so he could well bring the Trophy. Otherwise I'll bring the ZS?

Re: Kimbolton Charity Classic - 10th July 2011
Kelvin is from just outside Cambridge iirc. Not sure who else may be coming from that way yet. I'd suggest St. Neots Tesco or The Crown pub at Eaton Socon would be good places to meet.

Do we still need a Beds convoy to this?

Re: Kimbolton Charity Classic - 10th July 2011
Doesn't look like it. We haven't had many extras from Brit-Cars which is quite disappointing. We were hoping to have a mix of groups on our stand. So perhaps it's best to just make your way over on your own, or drag Captain Jack with you!

At the Thursday meeting it was mentioned a BBQ during the day would be a good idea.
I will bring a small gaz BBQ if anyone wants to bring a 'saus' or three......

Not sure they allow them Dave. It would be a good idea to contact the organisers first. There's a link in the first post.uk kiwis wrote:

Personally, I'm going for the Hog Roast!

Rich, what time do I need to aim to be there for?

Re: Kimbolton Charity Classic - 10th July 2011
You'll probably be fine with a gas grill, but I can imaginae that Kimbolton School would get upset with disposable BBQ's burning their grass.
