ZedTen - 10th Anniversary Event - 24th July 2011

2011 sees the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the MG ZR, ZS and ZT. To celebrate the ZR/ZS/ZT Register is organising a special event - ZedTen to be held at the Imperial War Museum. Duxford, Cambridgeshire. The event is confirmed for Sunday the 24th July 2011. Although still in the planning stages, we openly invite all to put the event in your 2011 diary. Regular updates will follow over the coming months!

Good, cos I'll be in Smudge for a start (although I do recall a contravertial announcement about the Rover stablemates being welcomed to the Zed Register!) ... We would probably only have one of each model on our stand (including an F/TF) and would hope Matt, as our honoured member would consider parking with us so we could make a special feature of Turbot. But that's really up to him...

Oh, and club stand permitting I'm happy to offer my assistance, whether just manpower or behind the scenes with graphic work, etc.

Judging from the feedback received at Pride of Longbridge, ZedTen should be a cracking event. We hope to have several hundred Zeds on display – including a number of specials.

With just a few weeks to go until ZedTen, we are expecting to see several hundred Zeds, other MGs and Rovers of shared DNA. The main event opens at 10:00 and will be signposted from the exit of J10 of the M11 as there will be a special entrance to IWM Duxford. The site map below shows the proposed layout. Parking areas may shift depending on mix of cars on the day.



A number of display cars are confirmed and include:

The Monogram display is looking impressive (if have a rare colour please PM).

Not sure if the 'Banshee' is allowed to enter, as it's a Zed event, but there may be a class for other MGs... Perhaps Neil will let us know shortly. Of course, this is only if Nick is coming!

and I know some of them have drain pipe exhaust's too so I think I know who would win

If I was taking the F or Metro then I could have easily won, I'd disconnect the cat pipe from the manifold

It's getting close so I though I'd better put up convoy meeting point details for those travelling from the Northants side...

We will meet up again at at The Priory in Wellingborough, just off the big roundabout on the A45 (NN8 2LF), for a 9.30am departure so please be there before then. We'll be doing the A14/M11 route as it's the easiest and quickest. If anyone wishes to join us on the way, please post where you think the best pick up point would be.

Definitely joining the convoy. Ed will no doubt want to join on A45 near Rushden so I may join at Wellingborough or with Ed. Plenty of layby pickup points so will have to work out the best place.

Just spoken with Ed and we will all be going in my ZS so will definitely pick up the convoy on A45 near Rushden. I seem to remember there is a layby on the stretch between the A6 roundabout and the Raunds roundabout. Fall back could be Thrapston services car park if nothing else suitable.

What is the deal on entry tickets. Do we just pay on the day or order in advance to get MG price?

The Duxford site says there is a discounted price with a link to MGCC site and the MGCC site points you back to the Duxford site!

Maybe there is more info on Facebook but I am not a Facebooker so can't see.

Meeting place sounds fine. I'm sure you're right about the lay-by.

I read it that anyone turning up in an MG gets discounted entry on the gate. It does say there is no need for prebooking as the gate price is the same. Perhaps Neil will come on and post a confirmation.
