Water Pipe Burst

Hi all

so driving home, and car has blown something. popped into local garagem where they have told me a water pipe has burst and MG no longer make it as far as they know. can anyone shed any light on where to get one of these ? its the number 13 apparantly in the drawing attached

Yes they do, as my TF had that one replaced a little while ago, have you tried rimmers or Browns and Gammons.

Hello and welcome.

What you have been told is untrue. The coolant hoses are all available which ever model of MGF or MGTF you have, in some cases there is just a short wait on some of the hoses due to only being a small supply of them and others being misplaced in storage.

I see from your sig on the right you have a TF. The section of hoses you have high lighted that you require will vary on what year and model TF you have as there are 3 options of this hose, non PRT, PRT manual gearbox and PRT automatic. Like I mentioned all of the hoses are available but you just need to clarify which model and year your car is and then I can tell you where you can get a brand new hose, or you can use a second hand hoses from abreakers as there are plenty of MGF/TF breakers about these days so you will always have an route to go to keep your car on the road

My car is a 52 registration, it is manual . How do I find out if it is PRT or NON PRT. Need to get this sorted asap as it is my only car so guess it will be a new hose.

looked on rimmer bros, there are 2 pipes with different codes . how do i know which one I want and if its suitable for a 52 plate. is there any where else. not very good with engine parts just know where the petrol goes

If your not sure give them a ring, they will give you the correct part based on your number plate.

Yours shall be a standand NON PRT setup.

The PRT came in from the 18th June 2003 which means that 70% of '03' plate TF's will have the PRT.
