How much water?
Just got home after a night out with the boys! left my m8s flat, around the corner of the cul-de-sac a foot of water!!!!!!
Slowly drove through it, engine started becoming lumpy and jerky, 20ft away, dies!!!!!
Tried starting the car again, not firing, checked coolant, oil, fine(ish), popped the bonnet, battery wet.
Tried startin the car again, and struggled, few more times, n then was 2 definative thunks from behind my head...................on no HGF im thinking!
tried again, flooring the throttle only reaching 1200rpm, then dies
tried again umpteenth time, revs reach 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, whacked it into gear n pulled away, just driven home down the motorway, 10/12miles or so, nothing to report!!! oil temp normal, water temp normal, no loss in power etc...........................
Now, what to do next? worry or just let it dry out n assume water got in thru the exhaust?!>?

Re: How much water?
So just to clarify... Was your drive down the motorway trouble free?
It could well have been wet ingress onto one or several of the electrical components that's dried out now. However, keep an eye on your oil and water levels just in case. You would get a bang if the engine wasn't firing on all cylinders properly so don't panic just yet.
it's worth noting that had it been the start of a HGF, ypu shouldn't have driven another foot! Further damage could have been done...
Keep us posted on this thread as to how it's running!

lumpy starting sounds like electris are a little damp still.... bit of WD40 could do the trick!!
