Re: Pub Meet in Beds - 19th October 2008
Yup managed to claw back to level with you when you two shot off up the 508 I was next to you at the roundabout heading up the A5. Oh and I tend to keep it below triple figures on the A5 ... too many cameras
There's definitley something wierd with the car at the moment, I'll have a look at the weekend and report back.

There aren't any on the dual carriageway! The only cameras Thames Valley have for the A5 in MK are attached to unmarked cars and vans on bridges, hence there are no signs. But there are a few trafficmaster cameras...Nick wrote:... Oh and I tend to keepo it below triple figures on the A5 ... too many cameras

Dont forget the stickers Stewart, lots of stickers.
Ally you only kept up with him 'cause his doesnt go around bends at the moment.
Mine's still feeling a little strange, it didnt feel as solid at speed yesterday, cant tell if it was because of the crosswinds / paranoia or a wheel bearing, time to investigate soon (££££s )
I'm fully aware that's why I kept up!! I'm still not very brave at throwing mine round left hand bends (right is no problen for some reason!!)
Mine is feeling lovely at the moment, add that to me having told Nick that (according to the invoices I have) it's never failed an MOT - I have a strange feeling of doom about this week!!

Firstly, I'm sure we can sort something out for the calendar. We'll arrange a suitable location and have a photoshoot!
Secondly, I'm pensively looking at the Navigation at Stoke Bruerne. I know the pub is perfect and the car park is fine, but the one thing that's put me off before is how busy it gets, especially on a Sunday lunchtime. However, I reckon that if we coordinate all runs i to arrive by around 11:15am, we can blag the car park first!
Rich
Excellent, let me know the time and venue and I will give it a clean before hand!
The Navigation is nice, havent been there this year so not sure how busy it gets on sundays?

Sounds like you had a good meet yesterday! sorry i couldnt make it - but i'll try and get to the next one.
Am i right in thinking the navigation is on a lock, on a canal? if so I think the zed has been there before, my parents were on a canal boat holiday somewhere near stoke bruerne and we went up for the day to join them, and ate at the pub!

Yep, that's the place. The Navigation is the more modern pub on the south side of the bridge and there's a pub called 'The Boat' on the north side, on the opposite side of the canal to the museum.
You can see the Navigation on the left in the second pic.

It's a lovely pub Rich! If we get there early enough like we did at the Crown in Bucks, we shouldnt have a problem with it being too busy!
You have picked a winner there!!

The car park is properly laid out, tarmac with marked bays. So we can park in some kind of decent order and we won't get blocked in...Dark Knight wrote:but we should pick a parking area where everyone isnt going to start trying to turn around between cars!
As there's so much enthusiasm, I'll start the thread!

yh i know but i get a little protective! Plus its likely a firm knock would bring back the signs of the chicken incident so i dont want that!
