Pub meet in Beds - 10th January 2010

The first of our regional events for the new year, or in fact the decade!



This meeting will see us at last back at The Globe, Linslade - postponed from October '09 - and will give everyone a chance to show off their Christmas pressies (car related or otherwise). We'll meet in the pub's car park at around 11:30am.

We've had a few new members sign up in the last couple of months so perhaps we'll meet some new faces. Feel free to either join the convoy or use your SatNav to find the venue directly - Postcode LU7 2TA . All are welcome as always.

We hope to be there again. How late is last minute? Last meet at Globe was cancelled after my early morning check - but we still enjoyed the pub and lunch, followed by a short canal path walk.

I doubt this one will be cancelled, unless we all get snowed in or the roads are just too dangerous... I'll post here before 10:30am on the day if it's looking like another postponement!

So someone has to ask, but any idea about the weather this weekend round that way?

I'm still keen to catch up with everyone, but if the roads are awful I'll be in the Audi or Karens Mini, I aint risking my F (other cars are replacable , but not my F ) if the roads are rubbish.

The Pub has e mailed back and the Girls are allowed in the non carpeted flagstoned part of the bar

Weather forecast is for snow showers and freezing temperatures!

If the weather is bad I'll probably bring my company car, which will hopefully be a Smart car going sideways

So everyone is still happy to go to The Globe then? Don't forget that it's a steep bit before the bridge and we drive rather close to the canal edge afterwards... and I'm not diving in to rescue anyone!

The latest forecast for the Leighton Buzzard area is possible light snowfall - nothing too serious - and the main route should be clear as the sun is supposed to be out for the rest of the day and Saturday which will help. Make sure you all wrap up warm though as the windchill factor will be having a big effect on us Sunday.

Kind offer Nick....but will be in the Tomcat...TF is plugged into optimate and freezing her bits off ....Cosgrove bridge is kept clear by excellent community salt spreading! .....Mike is currently having his 1st official driving lesson!!

Ok people... For those interested, we'll meet at the Toby Carvery at East Hunsbury at 11:00am for a run down together. Should pass Cosgrove at 20 minutes past if you want to jump in there Lee. We'll be driving sensibly for the conditions (snowfall predicted).

Looks like my turn to cancel. Moved my TF for the first time since Friday a week ago. Roads are not bad but still can't get out of our communal car park.

May not be 100% on making this but I will try my best will probably have my other half along in tow if I do make it.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance today to fit the R45 headlamps never mind, it's a job for next Saturday!
