LED lights (R200 bubble)
The electric window lights on a 'Bubble' Rover 200 are not lit, which is something brought up on several forums previously. Modifying the switches is virtually impossible, so I came up with the idea of mounting miniature LEDs next to them. After trial and error, I found the perfect colour LED and resistor value combination to achieve the same orange glow as the ring in the cigarette lighter and that would not be annoying and distracting at night. Whilst I was at it, I did the ignition switch too as my particular model hasn't got the illuminated ring. Of course, they only come on with the dash illumination!
And here are the results...

Looks a nice installation Rich.
My other car has a 'submarine' light, i.e one small LED in the roof pointing downwards above the gearstick.
If you fitted something like that would it help light up the area around the switches as well?
** thinks lets see how many LEDs we can get in Richs car before he realises he has gone the way of the **

You mean those wheels I can't wait to get rid of? Just want some standard ones, or actually some ZR hairpins which are tidy but not over the top. Gotta be better than the kerb bashers I've got now!
And can I just remind you that MY leds are there for a purpose and it's not for entertaining kids....

Re: LED lights (R200 bubble)
I have to admit that the idea of a DVD player in the F does appeal to me too. I've been looking at the Ripspeed ones in Halfrauds, as they are actually badge engineered Pioneers with a slightly lower output. I'd have to find a way of getting the logo off though. I've bought pioneer head units all my driving life and my sub is a pioneer too so would work nicely I reckon. I've already had a demo of the unit and the software is very user friendly. And the demo images aren't all dolphins any more!!!!
If I do decide to do it though, it won't be for 'kiddie catching' at shows as I don't plan to enter any competitions. Purely so I can play interesting things on the SmS stand. Anyone know if they have an output suitable for feeding a flatscreen tv (for club display purposes)?

They do have an output, but not sure how suitable it would be!
