How are my lovely MG owners?

I need some advice! My boot lid light is on constantly now! and the car won't double lock! Can someone advise on where to buy a new boot hatch from without spending too much money!

Hi Cheryl,

most likely it will be the boot wiring broken that is along the passenger hinge, this is a common fault on all F/TF's as due to the constant opening and closing of the boot it fractures and splits the wires and will either stop the lock and/or the brake light from working or cause the lights or lock to stay on/open due to wires shorting across each other from being broken.

If you have or know someone that can use a soldering iron then it is a simple fix for you and cheaper than a new lock that shouldn't be required

oh I could be better as had an operation on my foot so hoping about and no driving for 2 months but its all for the best
