Very disheartening to hear of all the troubles you have had but this could happen to any vehicle and don't pay any attention to what others say, if you enjoy the vehicle then hopefully you can salvage her and carry on being able to enjoy her

Matt has been through a very simiar experience not that long ago when Fizzbot, probably the world's most modified MGF still around, decided not to go where Matt was planning it to go and plonked itself into a barrier. It would definitely have been written off but it was dragged back kicking and screaming to Matt's garage where it is currently undergoing a complete rebuild. He could have easily just let it go and done another, or even not bothered and just concentrated on another of his 'fleet' but the car is special and deserves to be back on the road. Besides, I would cry too if it didn't!

What Matt says is true. It could have been any car. So keep the faith in Aphrodite and remember the support of the MG community, especially your newly found friends on this forum.

If it had been an MX5 I'm sure we wouldnt be having quite the same conversation though!

Just been looking at Aphrodite's damage on Facebook and I have to say that I reckon there's a pretty good chance that she WON'T be written off! As long as the insurance assessor doesn't go mad with the quotation, that should be a pretty easy fix and I would definitely say that there's no structural damage so the car would drive perfectly. My best advice, should a write-off be their response, would be definitely buy it back and get it fixed yourself. Remember that insurance quotes are grossly inflated, so having the work done privately will be much less and I would think any money paid by your insurance company would cover it all, including all the refurbed alloys and the 'other' scratch!

Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I've been so looking forward to doing bridges and tunnels next weekend! So fed up of looking forward to your MG meets and a few days before something happens! I think I will fight for her, but only going to use Aphrodite as a weekend car and keep it locked up all week In 11 year i have had motor free troubles! So I think its making up for it! Will be onto the body shop today!! See If I can get them to pick her up asap!!
