Thinking of next year : now I've had the MGF lowered am I restricted to only fitting 15inch wheels ?

Not at all! Many owners of 17" alloys have their cars lowered and if you look at the Trophy models that were lower when they came out of the factory, those wheels look great, especially with the AP Racing brakes showing through...
