Ok been in touch with dave andrews looking at his kits k06 and k06a, one is 3k and the other is 1.6k, the k06a is basically fully ported head, work to the plenum, piper exhaust cam, which gives you around 180+ with the panthers setup.

Now as im tight i reckon i could do it cheaper.

So would it be cheaper to
Buy the cam second hand
Send head off to Matts engine people
Fit cams myself
Get russel to put head back or i could do it myself but take longer.
Dave retimes the vvc though, how would i do that, or does he mean just set them back after cam install although you dont need to touch the inlet side, any ideas what he means.

So to do k06a my self what do you reckon the cost would be.

If doing it yourself then you can leave the VVC mechs complete with inlet cams installed fitted to the carrier and lift them off as a unit so you don't have to faff around with setting the VVC up if your unsure Smile

My head work is all done at Peter Burgess and if you want a different camshaft then they can sort that for you too so get in touch with Pete and see what he can do for you Smile

Well if I go for Daves K06

Gives excellent power increase across the range and much improved drivability and throttle response comprising Jenvey DTH throttle bodies with composite trumpets and fuel rail mountings, Pair Piper fast road cams for VVC engine, VVC blanking kit, Emerald K6 ECU with suitable map and all gaskets and oil seals necessary to fit. This kit replaces the VVC mechanisms and cams with solid camshafts and blanks off the VVC mechanisms

Verniers for above kit
Optional airbox kit with 90mm trumpets for MGF
Uprated con rods and pistons

Would be looking at 200bhp plus with this setup

I am looking at £4000 for the whole job affraid, or I could just buy the super charged car, and swap the engines over, works out the same price, but I guess Daves stuff will be more reliable than the supercharger.

Will give Peter a bell, and see what he says
