Seen a cheap LPG system on ebay
I've seen a cheap LPG system on ebay and I was wondering if anybody knew if K series worked well with them?
Also how difficult would it be to fit???

Re: Seen a cheap LPG system on ebay
I remember reading an article in the MGOC magaziner about an LPG TF. It appeared to be a pretty standard installation, thought they did lose a bit of boot space.

Thinking for the Rover 75 not the TF, it would in effect make it a 50mpg car!!!

K series work well on lpg, I know someone who ran his modified metro vvc 160 on lpg for thousands of miles without fail, he now has a tf160 and fitted the kit onto that which goes well, i even have i little video showing it starting and running on the lpg with no petrol tank fitted
May be worth fitting an alloy inlet on yours if going lpg as it allows the injectors to be fitted and secured better than on the plastic.

What would an LPG conversion on a KV6 be like? Just thinking of my dad's ZT-T really. I know he'd appreciate the much improved running costs...
Re: Seen a cheap LPG system on ebay
I looked into this for the ZS, and be very very wary of any body that
1. Says they can do it less than 3 days
2. is less than a grand (unless you going old school with carbs etc)
If 1, then they will most likely just bodge it in and not set it up correctly (scotch locks...).
2. It will be cheap eastern block components that will, 1. not be very efficient, 2 you will lose quite a lot of BHP whislt running on gas.
You looking for some recommend (I have a few), that take around 2-3 days for around 1500 pounds which would be mid range parts, sequentially injected systems.
Also you have to be certified to fit, that said you can fit it, but you'll have no chance of selling the car on or getting the tax reduction.
I worked out, assuming that they don't tax LPG to the hilt (which there are no guarantees for any more), that for my V6 I would get equivalent of 43MPG.
