Cheap bling discovery!
OK so I got hold of a nice polished peterol cap for my F, it's all fitted now after taking some time to figure out how to swap it over.
So I've done a bit of reasearch and took the old painted ring, applied nitromorse paint stripper to it and removed the silver paint.
This left me with a matt black petrol cap ring which I then attacked with 1200 grit wet n dry.
And what did I find? some shiney metal underneath! I kept at it and then used some Meguires metal polish and I now have a spare shiney petrol cap ring...admittedly I should get the dremel polisher on it to perfect the finish, but it looks bloody good as is.
I just thought if anyone else want to have a go I can bring my spare to a meet and swap it over so you can work on your own... sort of a free exchange service until everyone who wants to has done there's... then I'll stick it on ebay and get my money back.
I know the F has the metal ring, but I'm not sure if it was swapped to a plastic one on the TF as part of project drive so if anyone can confirm that'd be usefull.
