Missing wheel nut key
This morning I found to my surprise that I'm missing the wheel nut key for my new TF, this also may explain why on examination one wheel ( that has the new ZZ3 on)only has 3 nuts!!!
Whats the best way of getting them off????

Re: Missing wheel nut key
Find an old socket that almost fits and whack it on with a big hammer. Then, being careful not to round off the nut completely, undo it with a wrench. Once off, throw all the standard MGR locking wheelnuts away (because they are total b****cks anyway) and get a nice set of new aftermarket ones like McGard.
Oh, any you'll probably need a new socket too...

Re: Missing wheel nut key
A gator grip will do some of the MG locking nut, if you have one it's worth a try.

Re: Missing wheel nut key
If you have the 2 pin type locking nuts then a 19mm twist on removal socket will take them off, just ask Rich how easy it works as I had to remove his on smudge, if you need I have locking wheel nut removal sockets.
If its a Mcgard then the only way to get these off without marking the wheels is by a locking wheel nut tool specially for Mcgard etc where you impart a colar into the pattern which allows you to then remove the nut(s) or see someone who has a master key set of mcgard, I have half the master set
There are some people(mobile machanic's) that can come you you to remove locking nuts if you don't have a key but you need to prove its your vehicle or take it to a garage that can do it for you, simple

I've got them off now, I just have to work out how to get the nuts out of the sockets now

Are the nuts stuck in standards sockets, or rounded nut removal sockets?

Standard sockets, it doesn't really matter , I wont be trying to hard it will only cost a few quid to replace them.

Re: Missing wheel nut key
Put the sockets into a vice and give them a good tap with a hammer and punch/screw driver
