Right - Wriggly is booked in for Friday to have the neccessary done. Corin thinks its probably coolant pipes judging by the location of the wet patch.
I have to go over to Sandhurst tomorrow for him to make sure, so he can order the pipes, then back over on Friday to get the job done. Tedious - but at least it'll be sorted by the weekend.

But it doesn't appear to be the coolant pipes - I've been crawling round underneath the car watching drips - and it seems to be coming from higher up - maybe a hose!

No need to get involved with this thread guys - seem to be quite successfully coming to my own conclusions here!! Tongue

Ally have you tried getting then engine cover off to have a closer look? There are many pipes in there you can almost get lost

Just because the wet patch is under the car at a certain location it doesn means its coming from directly above as the water wil run along the pipework / engine to the lowest pipe before dripping on the floor.

So if it appears to some from the under car pipes trace it back up along pipes to a higher point, you may even find watermarks

But it was the underfloor pipes that I thought it was coming from - so I've eliminated them as suspects by wedging my head under the car. Therefore - it has to be higher up - and I know I won't be able to work out what's going on there - but I've done my bit, and saved myself buying new coolant pipes unneccessarily, and having to drive to Corins tomorrow for him to check whether tis the coolant pipes!

I will have to hurt you as revenge for the supercilious tone of this entry by the way!!!

Supercilious!

I was joking - there was an element of 'There There little woman' to the explanation of there being lots of pipes and confusing things under the inspection cover!!

I'm bored - humour me!

Digressed! but "Supercilious" and "Suspicious" have different meanings.

Ally, where is the wet patch? It's not the water pump is it?

Its my topic - and I'll off tpoic it if I want to!!

The wet patch is on the cross member just behind the start of the belly pan - right in the middle.
Corin has rearranged his stuff so he can sort it out on Wednesday - he reckons it's one of the hoses but we'll find out for sure when he takes a look!
