Clutch problems
Morning all,
I get the feeling more and more that my clutch is not doing too well and could probably do with replacing again
Is there any way to tell without cracking out the tools and taking the gearbox out?
I know the clutch release bearing isn't too happy as I can hear it whirring away behind me head Would that cause the any problems?
Cheers
Edit:
This seems to be happening a bit more recently too Right pain in traffic driving a kangaroo

Edit:
Grabbing
A grabbing or chattering clutch will produce a very severe vibration or jerking motion when the vehicle is accelerated from a standstill. Even when the operator slowly releases the clutch pedal, it will seem like the clutch pedal is being pumped rapidly up and down. A loud bang or chattering may be heard, as the vehicle body vibrates.

Re: Clutch problems
It does when using the nitrous low down where the torque is the greatest. It does seem to need a bit more oomph to get it moving from standing as well, maybe that's just in my head though

Re: Clutch problems
Sounds like the clutch plate is a little worn, and if your using the nitrous from a stand still or soon after a gear change then this will help to wear it out quicker for you, but if you are referring to the nitrous lower down is this after to have come off of the clutch fully if so then the clutch could be dragging and when the extra power is put through it will be too much so its holding it on and wearing it out.
One of the tests you can do is you put it into 4th gear and release the clutch slowly, if you get it biting and stall then there is still some life left in it, if the engine bog downs abit and tries to move off then the clutch is worn.
