The age old question
No, not the meaning of life, but
New car high mileage?
Or older car low mileage?
Comments welcome.

Re: The age old question
Any age, good condition, reasonable mileage, comprehensive service history...
That's my policy!

Re: The age old question
Buy it on condition and service history / receipts/ detail etc. Mileage doesnt bother me much so long as its been properly looked after (especially on a diesel). Oh and if it's a nice colour

As above.
We always like to be looking down at the speedo when in the car and seeing a low mileage but this day and age as long as the vehicle has been fully maintained, comes with history to prove this, and the vehicle itself is in good condition and its what you want then it shouldn't matter
...Oh would you be interested in an S plate VVC F with 47k mies, itds BRG, full dealer history till 2 years ago when it hasn't done many miles, let me know as I have one available, well will be in new year as Im just having the rust scabs taken care of and Ive fitted 2 new rot free wings

Re: The age old question
Give me prices (I need prices), the reason I am asking really is, now that I have sold the ZR.
I can
1. Get a cheap runabout, keep the big pug.
2. Sell the big pug and put the ZR money towards another large MPV/Tow car, and just use that as my daily driver.
Obviously the wife will be going before the TF does.

Bargain!
Would offer you the Streetwise Sambochimp (sorry! was asking to be done) but I think Dad actually wants to keep it now... hopefully he'll keep it until I can afford to buy it off him for a VVC conversion

There's a very nice ZT 1.8T on .org at the moment in XPower Grey-only done around 50k miles too.
The guy is apparently selling it after losing his job.

Re: The age old question
Yeah, I saw that one you commented on. If it was going to be my runabout though it would have to be fuel efficient. That said I have no idea what 1.8 T ZT is like on fuel.

Again, I would imagine yours would be more expensive than the other two, so I'm ooout.

I have no idea how much its worth, but I just assumed it was a goodun so expensive, and excuse the lack of rover knowledge, but i didn't think there was a rover 45 vvc?

Re: The age old question
Firstly, yeah it's a goodun! But like a ZS, Rover 45s go for stupid money considering what you get. Any you're perfectly right. They didn't make a VVC Rover 45 or even a VVC ZS... But Matt did! Have a look at the thread HERE for the styling progress and HERE for the performance mods and pics of Matt in dodgy positions...Sambomonkee wrote:I have no idea how much its worth, but I just assumed it was a goodun so expensive, and excuse the lack of rover knowledge, but i didn't think there was a rover 45 vvc?
Then make me an offer you're willing to pay!
Re: The age old question
Looks nice, all I saw the other day was the spoiler . I like the sound of the mods. Is expensive on the insurance?
I assuming your in no rush, as I am looking at a few other cars, ie ones to replace the 807. Depending on what happens there I may be interested in yours.
In terms of offer, I doubt you would get too excited at what I could afford, thats why I am hesitant, I don't want to offend etc.

Re: The age old question
It's not too bad on insurance as I kept the original block so still has the same engine number as it had from the factory. Also as its over 10 years old it's been on a classic policy with Peter Best, the same as my Trophy.
It isn't on the road at the mo but won't take much to do so. Matt is going to sort everything when I'm ready and slap an MoT on it. Just got to get Christmas out of the way first. In no rush, except the longer I think about it the more likely I am to want to keep it!
If it's going to go, I want it to go to an enthusiast but someone who will drive it as its meant to be driven.
