If I had the do$h I'd buy the whole car. The rest of it sounds as if it's been sorted to match the engine but retaining a standard exterior appearance. Good find. I hope it goes to an enthusiast...
Re: I want the engine from this!!!!
Good find, nicely presented car.
I only recall the official TT conversions being the TT190 and the TT215 as 1.8i and 1.8VVC.
A friend bought a BRG MGF(with a silly HUGE Alfa rear spoiler aka coat-car hanger) with the TT190 spec back in 2007 and then he fitted it into his Metro and converted to VVC with big valve heads, Piper exhaust cam and afew other tweaks to get it to 230bhp but as with all TT engines it had reliability issues so never quite peaked at its desirred power figure as the day it did the supercharger let go on Dave Walkers rolling road lol To my knowledge there has never been a TT engine that has lasted well.
I have to chuckle at the TT site with the write up for power as it says "Power is increased to 215bhp at 6500 rpm and torque rises to an impressive 185 lb ft." I don't like to boast but I am running a completely standard 1.8 Turbo engine with basically a custom map on Emerald as it produces 200 bhp and 240 ft lb at 5900rpm
