I'll try and find some old pictures of me waterskiing and scan them in! Used to have a speedboat and spend every summer waterskiing with the British Barefoot Water Ski Team, getting up at 5 in the morning for training, and skiing until it went dark!Rich Stone wrote:Topic?

I won't tell my dad - he spends his summers waging war with waterski boats exceeding the speed limit on his river!!

Re: Waterskiing!!
Aah, I sympathise, not good on a river. This was a private lake/club which the entire BBWSF British Team were all members and they used to let me train with them. Being barefoot skiing, the boats go quite a bit faster as well, but we have to have absolutely perfect water like a sheet of glass, hence the 5am training when it is absolutley still!dressur wrote:scubastewart wrote:I'll try and find some old pictures of me waterskiing and scan them in! Re: Waterskiing!!
He usually gets the last laugh - has been provided with a hand held speed monitor by Salcombe Harbour Authority! He goes out and motors up and down recording their speed as they go upriver to the waterskiing area - then reports any sinners! It's a huge family joke - 'someone' created a book of 'speeding' tickets for his Christmas stocking this year!! We wouldn't be surprised if he actually started using them!

Re: Waterskiing!!
Excellent, good on him! Having also been a river user for many years, and what with rowing on a river, when you get a boat going too fast that creates too much wash, it's a nightmare! Although having pi$$ heads on party boats shouting at you is just as bad!
