'F' leaves small hole in pocket.
Just got the 'F' back from our local panel shop. EXcell Smart. I have used them before. Very skillful and don't over charge. Had a small amount of rust slowly creeping along the back guard. Annoying to look at. It now looks like new again (Cut out ond replaced.)
Couple of repairs of late too: New fan belt to the alternator,air-con etc. £32.00 all up. Charged 15 minutes for the job, wow, what a bargain. Clutch slave cylinder went too, then a rear suspension track rod (second hand one fitted) upper ball joint link too while I was trying to find the cause of slight sideways play in the wheel.
Now looks and runs great once more. Have the hard top on which I love for winter driving.
Transforms the cockpit feel and sound level.
Happy days, roll on the summer

Indeed, roll on summer. I've needed some remedial work too.
My Trophy has gone on for repair to rust on the back seam just under the boot lid. Amazing how many go there. MOT due early December too so new shockers and front suspension arms which were advisory last December.
Also front sub frame is gaining a film of rust so I am having that treated too.
I was loosing coolant but not overheating and the heater was only blowing luke warm air. It turned out to be nothing but the radiator bleed nut on the RHS as you look at it which had sheered off at the top. The inside was hollow so it was a bad injection moulding as they should be solid all the way through!
These cars are worth investing in though
Cheers

Re: 'F' leaves small hole in pocket.
Interesting comments Dave:
In our case the car is 13 years old and never meant to last that long. We have had it ten years now. Devide that number by what we have spent over ten years and it works out
quite well. Far cheaper than a new one when depreciation is taken into account. Lucky we have a garage, it makes all the difference to deteriation. Slows it down some what.
Still love driving this great little MG car.
