For those of you who haven't been given the opportunity to laugh at me recently - Wriggs has a new noise, which is making me very cross.
For want of a better word - its flobbering! Think it's coming from the engine bay passenger side, and only happens on low speed acceleration.

I did drive into a flood very fast yesterday - can't remember whether it was flobbering before I did that though.

And just to compound my car fun at the moment - I ended up deliberately putting him into a hedge this morning - hit thick ice halfway down a steep hill and decided a few scratches from a low speed hedge dive were preferable to continuing to slide helplessly towards a blind corner!! Charlie thought it was cool - I nearly wet myself!!

Nearly wet yourself today! ACTUALLY wet yourself yesterday in your interview whats going on your bladder getting weak. I hear it does with age........... Laugh my a**e off!

I'd get out there and have a look see what the 'flobbering' could be sounds like you make have moved something hitting the flood....

Hope the hegde didn't mark Wriggly to much but, at least your ok!

sorry to hear that Ally - hope there isnt too many scratches from the bush!

I know the cure for the flobbering noise.......Turn the stereo up so you cant hear it Exclamation Laughing

Talking of weird noises, the Grape has a weird kind of rattle that sounds like a quiet hamster runnning around in a plastic wheel behind the speedo!

it's often called a dry cable! it basically means it needs lubricating.

WD40 is only a temporary measure as it will dry up again in time. So some kind of lubricating oil would be best

I think there is a how to on .org actually on the bet way to do it

Hi Ally,

If you've been through lots of water and it doesnt make the noise when stationary is it possible that you have water in the sills?

Have a poke around with a screwdriver in the drain points, might be worth a try?

best of luck

I don't want to be left out of the 'NOISE' club......Our 'F' is really noisy at idle....'clatters away to itself, rather like a loud tappet noise.

Found out, 'IT'S the ENGINE' ha ha...I am told it is the VVC gear that does it. As we say in NZ sounds like a chaff cutter, thats a hay cutter to you lot.

Seems not to cause any bother however and performs as usual, very quiet with the hard top on or the roof down.
