Pub Meet in Northants - 20th April 2008

For April, we're trying out a new venue. It's the Green Man, just past Silverstone Circuit (coming from Towcester) on the A43. It's quite a large pub and has the advantage of a Premier Inn out the back... It opens at 12noon but we'll meet up in the car park at 11.30 so we can get the best seats! Apparently, it gets very busy very quickly. We'll see how it goes!

Final details... We'll be meeting at the Toby Carvery at 10.30am ready for 10.45 set off on a 20 mile scenic trip!

As the Green Man doesn't open until 12noon, we'll have time in the car park for a chat, but we want to be in first to guarantee we get the large area at the far end of the pub.

Stewart, if you're joining us at the Toby and you're flying up the A43, I can assure you that you won't be doing the same bit twice, except for about 1/4 mile...

Lee, we can pick you up in Stoke Bruerne if you like, on the other side of the bridge to the Nav... unless you want to do the whole run with us!

Hiya , you'd be welcome along, the more the merrier, there's a few of us meeting up at the Toby earlier and convoying in come and join us, or we'll see you there...I'm sure Rich will be along in a second to welcome you along.
We could do with some more ZSs around (I'm assuming you've got one from your user name) I think they're a great motor (only driven one once, a 180 and it was awesome)
Rich has a 45 with loads of LEDs etc! so he'd enjoy seeing a nice ZS as well

Basically its about a mile off Jcn 15 of the M1, we are meeting at around 10:30 and leaving around 10.45 for a scenic drive in to the green man, it'd be good to see you.
I've got a grey P plate MGF, just wander over and say hi, you cant miss Rich's F it's Blue with silver 'viper' stripes, he's the guy who started this whole thing....

Firstly, welcome to the forum Darren. Surprised to have a Cambs car in our midst but there again we have members from Longbridge and Surrey, so whatever!!!!

I think Nick is getting rather delusional... Kate (my other half) has a 414i, not a 45, and it has no LEDs on it! I have a 220SD with one or two additional but functional LEDs, and the stripes on my 'F are NOT viper stripes They are MG stripes! I'll sort him out at the next meeting with a wet lettuce leaf and a stern word....

What awful weather

It was pouring down when I got up, 'Joanna' and I didn't fancy a 50 mile+ journey in the wet.
I promise to bring her out to play in future when she can look her best

Hey Darren, no worries. Look forward to seeing you at our next pub meet, or an event soon.

Was great to see everyone, and felt so nice having Shaggy back on the road! I have to say I quite liked the pub, and would be happy to go there again. Along with doing that run again, hopefully group leader knows the way now, so won't keep getting us lost!!!

Those that didn't make it, you really missed out on our morning run, with 2 x millteks, my TT-Fxtreme, and Rich's exhaust, we were certainly waking everyone up! Just needed Mikecvc to get himself a noisy exhaust, hopefully next time??? Altho, I think until Maxine gets her pink ear muffs, i'm currently banned from any more runs!

It was mentioned me organising next months pub meet, so I'm going to find us a venue in Bucks for May, and will post it up here shortly.

Also, the SMS Raffle started today, and more details will be in another thread that I'll put up a bit later on.

I had a really good day. I'm REALLY glad that I made the effort to come, and I was the only one with my roof down at first - you WEAK bunch! lol

I'd go to that pub again, it was a funny run there, poor ole Richy got a wee bit lost. I think it would be best to go there in the summer though.

Thanks to Stew for sorting my car out and polishing my rear for me - you DIAMOND geezer you!

I think we woke all the Travel Lodgers with all the exhausts, and Stew I can handle the drooooonnnnneeeee of your exhaust anytime (even without the pink ear muffs!!!! lol)

In my defence, I haven't driven around the Silverstone village area since the bypass opened! And it didn't help that the signs to the villages seemed to disappear completely. On the map, it looked so easy. I didn't think I would need satnav so close to home...

Yup, good to meet up with you all, I enjoyed the run in, getting temporarily missplaced is all part of the fun, but next time can someone else follow Stew please, my ears are still bleeding!
Seriously I think TVR owners were complaining about the noise... amazing that people havre those TT extremes and dont fit them!

Good to meet you all and count me in for the next meet in Bucks....

By the way, Mike has already fitted his chrome strip we went past Halfords on the way home....it looks very nice against the Tahiti blue
