Carbon Centre Console is IN!!!!
Ok, finally got round to doing some work on my car today... So, the carbon centre console is now in, along with my lovely 7" screen which for now I have mounted on top of the dash, and then during the winter I shall put it into the airbag blanking plate. Also fitted the main control box for my lighting, and have put in the interior vent LED's and some little flashing ones in the front grille.
I still have a huge pile of bits to fit to the car before fest, and so I have had to take the decision that my secret little weapon for the glow car will not be fitted for this year. It does however mean the I will get time before MGFest09 (hopefully we will have one) to do it properley with added oomph....

Heat gun.... Hair dryer will do the job. Just remove it from the car, take it in the house where it is warm, and then use a hair dryer on the carbon trim to soften it and make it flexible. That was how I did mine quite a few months ago. I will say that it is easier to have a second person to help you get it lined up correctly and in place in one go.

Unlike you - I do not have a hairstyle that is high maintenance enough to merit ownership of a hairdryer!!

There you go... Your next mod could be a hairdryer in your glovebox. I've seen those 12 volt ones that plug into the cig lighter socket. Dont think Stewart has thought of that one yet!dressur wrote:Unlike you - I do not have a hairstyle that is high maintenance enough to merit ownership of a hairdryer!!

I don't NEED a hairdryer - I'm perfectly happy looking like a Shetland pony!!
Bet Stew has already been out and bought one - do they come with blue LED's?

It's cowardice really - Putting it off because I'm terrified of messing it up and it looking like cr*p!! Have to stop making excuses and just do it!!

Now come on that would just be stupid..... plus can hardly use it whilst drinig can i unless of course i'm stupid, and that i am not!!
So the added weight in the boot probably actually make me go slower, not that it shows as i gave the New type Civic Type R driver a run for his money yesterday, he seriously was not imopressed at getting his ass whooped by me yesterday... And before you say did he know you were supposed to be racing, well yes because he instigated it i finished it!!!
