Smudge valuation...
So, seriously, what do people think Smudge would realistically be worth in the current market? I would hope for around £1200-£1300 but I know some people can be funny about modified cars, even if they make vast improvements in many ways! A standard 1.8 seems to fetch £700-£800 at the moment. He's currently insured for £1600 on an agreed valuation policy.
By the way, I'm not necessarily selling... Just wondering for the mo. after all, he still gives a huge grin factor!

IMO, Smudge would struggle to reach a grand.....which is criminal!!!....far better you keep him and continue to molly coddle him!!!!!

As Lee said, it makes no difference what modifications(alterations) you make to a vehicle as at the end of the day to the majority of people it will be what it started life as, in Smudges case a 45, which are only selling for several hundred pounds these days. Even ZS's that are clean and original condition are selling from £4-800
One of my work mates sold his 2002 ZS with 17's, custom exhaust(original but twin tailpipe ) mk2 dash and a ZnF remap for just £500 and my other workmate who is thinking of selling his mk2 ZS VVC 160 is thinking to get about £1500(if he can)
Unless you can find someone who appreciates all of the work gone into Smudge then you will not get what he is worth unless you break him for spares and if your not interested in doing that then your better off keeping him as is to use until he dies of old age or park him up in the corner and get your red 25/streetwise TD for everyday use

Can't believe just how cheap cars are just now....not only MG's either. Would love to change our 'daily' DiHatsu but it is so Bl.....y reliable I just cannot get myself in the mood.
The Devil you know applies for me rahter than buy someone's trouble.
Different if you can repair them yourself I guess.
Think on Richard, will watch this space with interest.
