218is conversion to 200vi
What's needed to convert a 218is to 200vi spec?
Looking to specifically engine here...I don't mind if it remains MEMS 2J and therefore 143bhp.
And has anyone got any of these bits available...? I may or may not have a new purchase which may need some work...

well what do you think it entails young man and when have you known a 200Vi to be mems3?
It is straight forward conversion again like the streetwise would have been, all you would need to do on this would be fit a VVC cylinder head, swap the wiring loom for that off of a 200 vvc such as a coupe or another vi so you can plug it directly into the vehicle body loom (I may still have an un-touched vvc loom, msy as I had afew but used them to make Metro looms and use as replacement plugs) swap the rear mounted coil pack from the single to a the quad along with the HT leads and bolt on the alloy inlet.
All parts apart from the cylinder head will need to be that of a 2J and not 3, unless you wanted to convert to a mems3 setup in which you will need to modify the engine loom to suit from a 25gti or zr160 and also need afew other parts for mems3 such as lambda sensor, temp sensors, inlet, cam cover, coil packs etc.
The easist thing to do is once you have actually got a car and plan to actually convert drop me a text so I can give you a list of the parts you need and what I have

Like now? Picking it up in a week or so and then stripping the engine to see what the damage is, but I wouldn't mind converting it to VVC while the head is off. I reckon it'll most probably want a head anyway and possibly a bottom end too being as it apparently got rather hot...
And I know the VI wasn't ever MEMS3, I meant I wouldn't mind it being either although MEMS3 would obviously be better but more of a pain in the tits and obviously more expensive, I can probably live without the extra 17bhp in exchange for some pennies in my pocket.

I've found a MEMS3 VVC engine which I'm hopefully picking up next weekend...more to follow!
I'm eyeing up a cheeky budget road legal track car conversion...
