Re: ZS 180 on ebay
All depends on what the reserve is. I've just been looking at one on the AutoTrader website for £1,495! And it's from trade, offering part-ex and finance!!!!
Gotta be something wrong with it...

Mk2 alloys and duplex exhaust too, although it looks like that's also for a Mk2, as it protrudes further out from the bumper heat shields than normal. It would be interesting to see under the bonnet though...

Re: ZS 180 on ebay
well i contacted the owner with intrest to buy it and run a check on its past only to find
"insurance write off Cat C, extensive damage" this was back in 2005, but thinking about it back in 2005 they were worth a bit more so it must have been a bit off damage to write it off.
No thanks..... NEXT!,

here is another one i have been watching on Ebay, checked it history and it all seems legit on this one no secret past with it. Only thing is i have messaged the owner to find out what he would want to let the car go for so, i'll see what happens and let you know!

Re: ZS 180 on ebay
Yeah, I'd agree that this one is a far better bet. I prefer the hatchbacks myself but 180 hatches are a little more rare than the saloons.
How about this one?
Probably at the top of where the price should be but would have a warranty and possible part-ex and finance if you need it.

another one i have found thats intrested me, the colour stood out when i was looking through and i think it looks really tidy.
I have arranged to view a ZS on saterday, found this one on pistonheads the owner only put it up yesterday, run a check on it and its clean, no hidden history ect so with any luck i'll be rolling back in a ZS again! only problem with this on is.....the owner has stuck V6 badges on the rear and under the side repeaters, halfords Clio V6 badges.... if it comes to it anyone any good at removeing them without damageging paintwork?

Re: ZS 180 on ebay
I saw that light blue one too. I've seen quite a few MGs in that colour, including Fs and TFs. ZSs are, as you say, quite rare in this shade though. It does look like a very clean car.
Removing badges is easy. Just blast them with a hairdryer and they should practically fall off. Aftermarket ones are especially easy to remove. Factory ones can be a little tougher although the facelift ZRs and ZSs did tend to have a problem with their boot badges falling off with no assistance at all. Just before MG-Rover went belly up, the Northampton dealer Phoenix had a large stock of them just in case. That's how I managed to get one for the back of Ollie at a bargain price...

Re: ZS 180 on ebay
... unless you tell them you don't want to claim and then the car is still legally yours. It depends on how much they are paying out. When I did the deal to part-ex my Rover 200 SDi on Smudge, I agreed a price. But when it met with a small accident, my insurance wanted to write it off because their recommended bodyshop wanted to charge £900. However, the guy I was part-exing with took a look at it and said he could do it for £70! So I told the insurance company I wouldn't be claiming and just knocked the £70 off the part-ex value... Result! And my insurance wasn't affected either...Da!sh! wrote:my insurance are not selling it back there policy dosenot premit the sale of a wrote off car aparently (in the small print...somewhere)
