Fun drive tomorrow!!
But not in Wriggly!
One of my friends is coming over to visit, and he wants to have a go in Wriggly. I'm cool with that, but said he could only drive mine if I could drive his... which he seemed to think was reasonable!
Guess What?
Clue - it shares its surname with a certain admin/mod on this site!!

Re: Fun drive tomorrow!!
Yay! What do I win?
When the MG RV8 was launched, this car was only £200 more. That was one occasion when if I'd had the money, the MG would have been in second place. I drove one of these and instantly fell in love. You never know, I might have one... one day. More likely that the Aston Martin at the top of my list, unless the lottery is good to me in the near future...

It is a stunning car!
320bhp 5l V8, and it's so immaculate that I shall be polishing my shoes before I get in it! He's thinking of selling it so this may be my first and last chance to have a go!
Dominic fully expects me to be too scared to go over 30mph!!

Yeah, right!
How much is he asking for it? (Not that I can afford it, but hey...)

Re: Fun drive tomorrow!!
OMG - I have been back half an hour and my heart has only just stopped hammering! It is a complete monster of a car, and I thought I was going to wet myself a few times! God it was brilliant!! Better than sex!!
My mind has been opened up to a completely new idea - sideways is good, and fun, and ..quite scary.. but in a good way!
Wriggly had to step up to the mark as well - Dom scared me more driving him, than I scared myself driving the TVR! He was trying to get the back end to step out - and the more it gripped, the harder he was trying! He really liked the car too - wasn't expecting to as he has two complete beasts of high performance cars, but he reckons the F is great, engine is superb, it's nicely geared, and long legged - what ever that means!
Right - I think I need to go and lie down in a darkened room for a bit

Re: Fun drive tomorrow!!
What an afternoon!! I still can't quite believe he was throwing Wriggly round corners at 70mph, and I'm still alive!! I'm going to be considerably less cowardly about bendy bits from now on, knowing that the more you attack them, the better the car corners.
I'm going over to his next week to try his daily drive - which is a 3l 231 bhp Mazda RX8 Kuro - and he's threatening to show me what the TVR can really do!!

Ally - you are one lucky lady. sounds like you had a brilliant afternoon!
Did he manage to get the back end out on wriggly then? I find it quite hard when i am trying to do it on purpose in the grape!
ha ha be careful though dont go sticking wriggly in a ditch somewhere!

I'm still grinning whenI think about it!
He completely failed to get the back end out, which made him quite cross. He said my tyres are too grippy, and the car is too planted! He knows I've had a couple of incidents, and can't understand how i managed it!
Mind you - the TVR is pretty determined to go sideways at every opportunity! He had me pulling away from roundabouts with a bit of throttle and opposite lock, and off it goes! It's completely bonkers!
We went down to SMS in Wycombe again - Lindsay recognised my car and came out to say hello. He and Dom had a long chat about the LE500, and a couple of TF's that he has in at the moment - think D may be considering one to replace the RX8 as he liked Wriggly so much!!

Re: Fun drive tomorrow!!
I bet you are!
so it's not just me that finds it difficult to step it out then! I have lost it twice but i put that down to diesel/oil on the road!
He must trust you a lot to let you floor it sideways off a roundabout! My brother in law has just picked up a 53 reg M3 convertible with the SMG gearbox (Flappy Padels). He let me have a go in it at the weekend but i didnt want to floor it as it was wet and he looked a little worried!
He has the MG fever!!! Sounds like he will be the next registered SMS'er

Re: Fun drive tomorrow!!
That might just get through the barrier... After all, it's a Rover design and came off the same line as the MG Maestros and Montegos. Many of the staff are the same too, after BMW kept them on. The husband of one of my work colleagues works there, and he still drives a Rover!Dark Knight wrote: oh oh!!!! so i'd not get away with bringing the MINI on one!
