Re: Doesnt it just wind you up.....
I tend to run mine on 30psi all round but let the fronts down to 28psi in the Winter... when it's on the road!

Oh dear, the whole tyre pressure subject is a right minefield!!! Dave, just out of interest, what you running yours at now, after I let them down last weekend?
Just a quick tip for people, some of us like Rich for example run at a ratio quite different to that of the original spec for the vehicle, and often to save on tyre wear, reduce squeal, etc. And for the most the handling seems very little affected by it, but in some of the cars it seems to make a huge difference. Dave's Trophy for example felt scary to drive with the fronts at over 30. I dropped them to 26 and it felt a lot better. Officially the Trophy (16inch wheels) should be at 26/36 and I'd say definitely don't do the fronts more than the 26, but the backs can afford to be dropped to 30 or even the F standard of 28 to provide a better ride and instill more confidence. For a basic F with 15" wheels it should be 26/28, but I always go 27/29 just to help preserve my tyres that little bit. But an F with 16inch wheels, it depends on which tyre sizes you have (there are choices for the front), i'd say they handle well sticking with the 26/28.
Ok, so I'm talking purely about F's here, as I can't comment on what it 'feels' like with different tyre pressures on a TF. All I'd say is that everybody is different and we all like our cars to feel different and handle in different ways. The standard works for the most, and if I have to recommend anything to anyone, I'd say run with the standard, and then if you have a complaint about how it handles, then make (small) adjustments to see what difference it makes, and until you get it feeling the way you like it most.

Re: Doesnt it just wind you up.....
To be honest, that sounds about the right kind of mix for the TF160, as the Manufacturer standard was higher for the rear, but that kind of pressure lowered to about 30 will compensate for the stiff suspension that you have, and make it a more comforatble ride, with excellent grip levels.
Obviously I could be talking cr&p as I have no experience of driving TF's and playing with the tyre pressures!!!

Re: Doesnt it just wind you up.....
when i got it they were too hard and it was horrid. so i drop it to 26 and it was too soft, the happy compromise is 30 and seems to work for all types of driving, so no thats not cr&p your talking it makes sense!!

Re: Doesnt it just wind you up.....
We'll have to do a swapping of car keys some time and have a go in each others. I'm sure we will find that they both feel like completely different cars.

Re: Doesnt it just wind you up.....
Nah, not planning on selling either at the moment. Unless someone makes me a good offer!
Might lend the TT MK2 to someone who needs to make her car chavvy enough for her son to like it!
But it would only be a temporary loan until she buys her own SS Sports exhausts!

I've gone 26/36 with the new front tyres. I'll give it a few 100 miles and then play around with the pressures if need be.

I will not be a part of his chav-ness!! He has blue flashing lights in his bedroom, he doesn't need them in the car as well.
Way I feel today, flashing lights and loud exhausts would both be a very bad idea!
