Christmas 2008
Right ladies and gents. It's time we turned our head to our SMS Xmas Do!
Suggestions for venues and prices please. We are ideally looking for something with entertainment and accommodation please.
So far, we have had a suggestion to make it a weekend trip to the coast for such a shindig. I suggest, to keep costs down that we visit a Pontins or Butlins!!
Cheers
Dave

Re: Christmas 2008 - Discussion
I'm afraid that close to Christmas, a weekend away would be out of the question for Kate & I, what with lots of travelling up to Leeds to see the outlaws and family and the cost of kennels/cattery on top of the xmas shopping. So we would prefer something a little closer to home. I don't mind driving back in the early hours though so if it's within a hour or so of the majority of the membership...
Let's get a few suggestions up and then start a poll.

And to make it even more special, we could have a Christmas run to it... Festive decorated cars compulsory!
Flamin' 'eck... wasn't expecting to use that smilie so soon in the year...

Re: Christmas 2008 - Discussion
Like the Holiday Inn idea, as a room for 2 is only £30 each. Lets book it!
I'll keep my car taxed and turn up with the LED's on!!! We could have a little glow car parade in the car park!!!!

How is your car festive? Or are you going to wrap tinsel round your neons?
So you're not going for the full english the following morning...

Re: Christmas 2008 - Discussion
Holiday Inn idea looks good but like Rich December / Christmas is a busy and i'll be visiting Manchester and Shrewsbury to see family, so stretched funds!
A festive run sounds good i wonder if we could get one of the rovers or Z cars to tow a sleigh!!!

Just as long as I can get all dressed up I don't mind what we do! I will go with the flow.

I've now reposted the main Christmas thread with all the details, so please get your names down if you wish to join us.
Dave, could I suggest we move it to Friday 12th? People are going to find it very difficult to get the Friday after 18th off work at this stage and I can't see anyone making it in after a night of serious partying!
Oh, and Cranberry Sauce is confirmed!

Re: Christmas 2008 - Discussion
As I'll be wanting to drink, I'd really want to stay over, so if we can avoid me having to take a day off work that would be great, but I know the prices usually go up for those days!

I have no problem with any date but why can't we go for the 19th?

Re: Christmas 2008 - Discussion
I'm ok with that.... I have to be honest, if my work one clashes, I would have to attend the work one. But no idea when that is yet. It is usually midweek though so hopefully we will be ok.
