On a lighter note.. the TF will hit the Road tommorow
Well as long as I can change the alternator belt tonight, the one on there looks like its going to snap.
Its just been taxed and is ready to go, it will be its first drive since I bought it in October. It has not been on the road in anger since Russel waved a magic wand over it.
It will be my first experience of TF160, doubt it will be much different to the F but after week I have had I'm trying to big it up

Oh, is it the meet at the overstone manor? If so, I get the alternator belt done and its survives a trip to work and back, then most likely.

Aaaargh I can't believe I'm going to miss out on your first meet with the new TF Lee, gutted.
Sorry but I can't make tomorrow night I have a load of training to do for my kickboxing grading and had an enforced break over Christmas, so feeling unfit and knackered, have a good meet and catch you all in February

Don't worry Nick, I ordered the wrong belt, I ordered the 3 rib one, doh, so it wont make it tomorrow any way, well unless I can fit the new belt when I get home from work

I was looking forward to seeing the TF and checking out the graphics properly, but I'm going to miss tomorrow too due to a family birthday.

Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing the graphics 'in the flesh' too...
Re: On a lighter note.. the TF will hit the Road tommorow
Lee, in response to your PM on .org, Sunday should be fine to pop over-I'll chat to you tomorrow night about it.

How did you get the wrong belt? They are all the same for non aircon F and and TF.
The 3 rib belt for the power steering pump which is only on front wheel drive,so how did you manage that
Just get the right belt and fit it before tomorrow evening

Bloody europarts, there was three choices for alternator belt, so really that one shouldn't have been a choice.

Or if you'd have waited I'm sure I have a spare "as new" belt in my garage

Yes, but not sure I like the look of the one on there, which why I didn't want to chance it

Re: On a lighter note.. the TF will hit the Road tommorow
errr, to Colin its the bargain price of 2500 grand, not a single thing wrong with it
That said I am getting prices for work that needs doing
so far
£50 pounds for thermostat kit (£200 for martin to do it), I have asked Matt nicely if he will help me
£17 for new water sensor thing or £0 to unplug it
£5 for new relay to be soldered into the BCU (got this)
£5 for new passenger window (got this)
£60 to repair bolster - low in priority
£10 for gearbox oil, I want to top it up, since they removed the engine I want to make sure
£100000 for petrol
Thats if for now.

Gearbox oil is due for replacement at 7 years/105k miles anyway so I would do a full drain & refill. IIRC 2.4 litres is the capacity.

Re: On a lighter note.. the TF will hit the Road tommorow
Oh, ok, which gearbox oil should I get?

MTF94 available from XPart. Certain motor factors do a Comma MTF94 which is cheaper but is only semi synthetic, the new MTF94 from Xpart is fully synthetic.
Have you got something to help you fill the gearbox as the filler is a bit of a PITA to get at?

Re: On a lighter note.. the TF will hit the Road tommorow
Nope, I assumed it would come with one of those pipes and you just squeeze the bottle.

Re: On a lighter note.. the TF will hit the Road tommorow
MTF94 from XPart doesn't-the Comma stuff from factors does. Still a bit of a faff though being honest-I've got a squeezy plunger syringe type thing for refilling gearboxes.
