should I change to a TF ????
I saw a nice looking TF160 and I was wondering if I should sell/break the NOS monster to get it.
What are peoples thoughts on the subject????

NO!!!! Buy a Trophy. Best of both worlds and going up in value. When I bought TC I could have had a pearl black TF with 56k on the clock for the same money, buy there's just something about the 'F for me that the TF doesn't do. I don't know if it's the more classic MG look or the handling or what.
Of course, I'm in no way biased...

Ok Iain
£50? I assume you are selling it as a spare or repair

I prefer F to TF and like Rich said, get a Trophy, if you can but it must be a decent one so I wouldn't bother with Iain's

At the moment yes I need to strip down to look at this coolant leak, which I'll do this weekend. I'm just a bit peeved being honest, it seems to be problem after problem with my fleet.

Mate it has to be said that you and that trophy don't seem to match on some sort of cosmic level

I'm too manly for it...I need a TVR or a Lotus that's why my other car has a beefy V6

We all get that from time to time and it is always when we are not in the best of moods isn't itCaptain Slow wrote:I'm just a bit peeved being honest, it seems to be problem after problem with my fleet.
I am having the same at the moment with the Metrot but I'm just plodding on and dealing with it as I can as thats all you can do at the end of the day, don't let things get the best of you
I think it you had some throttle bodies on the Trophy your be happier as its more manly then... gurgle gurgle

Re: should I change to a TF ????
I'm hoping that the Trophy will prove me wrong and be inexpensive and easy to fix...but we will see.
Meanwhile the Zed proves loyal and reliable-I have been having thoughts again of selling the Rover fleet and buying a Civic Type R...but I couldn't really given I'll get *not a lot* for the ZS and it hasn't actually done anything wrong (yet...touch wood ).

Gah, I was proven right. HGF-it's an external leak running down inside the timing covers & side of the engine block.

So did you buy a TF 160 at Silverstone then Colin?
I would definitely go for a TF 160 if I was you, If I had a few grand to spare I would go for an 05 MY TF 160 myself.

Would hate to see it broken as it really is something special in it's entirity. Also whilst i agree you'd probably sell the bits for more it would kinda depend on how long you have as i suspect all but the really good bits could be round for a while. Still as you say will be intersting to see the interest!

TF's are for girls. Real men drive F's, specifically Trophy's in yellow with the cylinder heads currently on the workshop floor...
