Pride of Longbridge Rally - 12th April 2008

The third annual Pride of Longbridge Rally is being held on Saturday, 12th April 2008.

A procession of Longbridge-built cars will be gathering from 10am at junction 2 of the M42 (Hopwood Services) and at around 11am start to leave for the Longbridge factory at 'Q' Gate and Cofton Park.

We attended last year and the event was a fantastic day out with loads of interesting vehicles to see and many interesting people attending too... So we're going again! Names for a convoy please...

I will not be leading as I need to be at the finishing point early to set up the MGF Register stand... Volunteer for leading please!!!!

According to the MGF Register Forum, the run leaves Hopwood Services at 11am, and the Midlands guys are heading up at about 10am to ensure a space in the car park. So it's over to Lee to decide your meeting place and time as he's offered to lead. I think the hookup at Kettering may not work as well, looking at the list of who's going, but it's up to you...

Very interesting experience this Event. There is obviously still quite a loyal following for the Longbridge families of cars. Even well preserved Allegros were in evidence. Unfortunately a lot of clubs/associations had no attendees such as the Farina A60s, Marinas and A40s. However, there was a good turn out of SVRs

Pity it was such a cold day as a wander around the outside of the factory would have been on my itinerary. As it was, I left just before the rain storm arrived and I hope if you stayed later you got out of that park OK.

Err, what storm?

We left at about 2.30pm and we had a very slight drizzly patch for a few minutes. It wasn't until we were about a third of the way home that we got a patch of 'proper' rain but we were soon under blue skies again. Definitely agree that it was bitterly cold though. It was a good day and I was pleased tohave met a VIP, even though I hadn't realised who he was until he handed me his card!

Got the link from the other forum. Pity NAC couldn't be so well organised on the production front.

I went through some real black clouds and downpours on the A42. It was horrrendous. I had to slow down to 80
