My Leak!!

I'm REALLY REALLY cross with the robbing git who 'fixed' my split top hose last year!!
Have been over to Corins for him to sort out whatever the problem is, and he opened up the engine compartment, took one look at the top hose and said "whoever replaced this ought to be shot"
On closer inspection, its part of the original hose, joined to a random hacked of piece of hose, and reattached. Water marks all round the connection, so it's fairly clear what's caused the problem!

He has to order a new hose, so at the moment, has just tightened everything up to keep me on the road. Should be back in fairly soon to get it sorted properly.

I am cross!!

Sorry to hear you've had a bodge job, but look on the bright side at least it is nothing more serious (or expensive) and hopefully with it tightened up you'll keep mobile until the replacement part arrives.

That's why i find it so hard to trust garages!

At least I know I've now got a mechanic I can trust!

I mentioned the hoood as well and he had a look and told me not to waste money getting him to take it apart and fiddle with it - as it stands, it fits when its up and doesn't leak - which indicates that it's quite happy where it is. He reckons that if he messes with it - it may start becoming a problem!

Temporarily. I've bought a new set of hoses which are going to be fitted next week before it gets MOT'd
