Hi Kieren Welcome to SmS!

Glad to see Christina passed on the link! Car looks lovely by the way, but whats all this about an induction kit? Which one you gone and got? Because the Trophy induction system being the Mk2 one as in the TF is generally better than most aftermarket ones such as the K&N systems!

Anyway hope to see you at the meet next week

Ah-haaaa,
Now it works! Thanks Guys. I was having trouble replying to the post all weekend. Not sure if it's fixed because of something you've done, or I'm on a PC with IE and not Chrome.
Anyhoo. I got the K&N 57i. To be honest I haven't noticed any power difference, but the noise is GREAT!
When I took the old Airbox assembly apart, I wasn't all that impressed. If anyone could explain why there should be a power loss by replacing this with a cold air induction kit, i'd be interested to know.

Cheers

Have you got a heat xhield fitted with the K&N 57i?

The main issue with fitting an inducion kit is the engine position in the rear and the heat inside that small area.

The usual issue with fitting an induction fit is heat soak on th air filter, even a heat shield isnt always adequate as heat still circulates around the sheild. Research has suggest that if you are you add a K&N induction kit then then enclose the filter within an air box.

Alterantly you can but a fully enclosed ITG induction kit that will give slight inprovements with stock exhaust, Add a sports exhaust you'll notice more inprovements

over enclosed ystems would be the likes of the Pipercross Viper (used that on a car before and this is awesome).

I think it was because you hadn't responded to the activation email. I activated it for you once I'd noticed!

With regards your K&N, have a look here for our recent chat on the subject, or have a look here for an 'interesting' installation...
