Heated Mirrors Empty Heated Mirrors

Post  Seb 6/10/2008, 7:50 pm

Ok......I have always noticed my wing mirrors defrost quickly in the freezing conditions such as this morning but had always put it down to the sun.

However ....this morning i started her up and put the heater on to defrost the windscreen, i noticed my mirrors were steaming so thought i would feel them to see how hot thet were! Quite surprisingly i realised i had heated wing morrors!!!

Do all F's have these or am i special??? (must add though, there is no switch to turn them on)

DK you are spot on mate, all F's have heated mirrors, they're on permanently as well. Seb hows the front fogs going, have you got them working yet?

Yep, I can confirm this. Quote from the original MGF Owners' handbook...

The Rover Group wrote:Both mirrors are equipped with heating elements for dispersing ice and mist; these operate continuously while the starter switch is turned to position 'II'.
So there you go!

ha ha and i thought i was special! I defo have manual operated mirrors, but i love the heated element, makes reversing out of my drive so much easier!

Dont talk to me about the FOG Switch - I'm still running the Mrk one switch, i've ordered a new mk2 switch from x part which i'm picking up on wednesday but have little faith that this will work! I'm hoping rich will take a look at the Mk2 switch to see which wired i need to swap round??!?!?

Thanks mate that would be greatfully appreciated!

No rush at all, the old mrk 1 switch is doing the job at the moment, just looks a little bigger than the other switches!

Thanks again
