NEC Classic Motor Show - 14-16 November 2008
The MGF Register will be at this years NEC Classic Motor Show for the first time. This really demonstrates the acceptance that the MGF is a classic car. Take advantage of the special club discount for tickets as per the advert below.
This is a fantastic show and a great opportunity to look around some very interesting cars. On the MGF Register stand, there will be 2 very special cars on show, along with the full range of regalia, plus some extra goodies.
Be sure to come and visit us on the stand, and bring along your ticket stub, which will earn us £1.

I was working on the MGF Register stand yesterday (Saturday) and had a great time, meeting and chatting to both new and familiar faces, and having a good look at some beautiful cars. I took some photos and you can see them here. Apologies for the Mustangs appearing first... Photobucket uploaded half of the pics in a backwards order!
Rich.
PS. Well done Stewart for the work he put in to make such a professional and welcoming stand and well done to the supporting team who donated up to four days of their time running it! I got the impression that we made quite an impact on the visiting public...

Nice photos Rich. Which stand was the ZS (turbo?) on?

Re: NEC Classic Motor Show - 14-16 November 2008
The ZS Turbo is Matt Parker's (son of Roger) car and was on the MGOC stand. I've watched that car progress from the day he bought it as a MkI ZS120. The spoiler on the back of Kate's 400 came of it! He's spent alot of time and money on it and been very modest with under bonnet fittings, making it look like a factory job. It's been on a rolling road and currently puts out 199.8 bhp. So, a tad quicker than a V6 and still on the 1.8 tax band! I thought about it for Smudge, but when he said how much it would cost me, even with his mate's rates and favourable parts sourcing, I've decided to stick with what I've got!

The stand looks brilliant - Well done Stew!
I like the body kit on that gold MGF - I take it that is one of the MGF Centre's cars going on the plate?

It isn't a body kit! They are hand made panels
That car was delivered by the MGF Center but isn't their car. It belongs to a very nice young man called Darren. It is a prototype known as SuperSports 2 and was developed from SuperSports 1, the red and white racer without a windscreen It has a 1.8 turbo charged K series engine developing 230 bhp. I sound like I am back on the flaming stand.
The paint is Harlequin and isn't made any more. It has similar effect to Bittersweet.
It is therefore a one off and we were very fortunate to be able to show it.

Saturday was VERY busy, but to be honest, it was the LOOOOONNNNGGGG days that tired me out! I still feel shattered!
I'm half way through unloading and packing everything away. Will be finishing that off tomorrow evening! And then I can fill out the application form for next year!

Dave, I apologise. I know how hard you worked, along with the others too. A star performance from everyone. I think it's just because it was Stew's concept. But it worked extremely well and us bods on it just finished it nicely!

Dave, you did an excellent job with the table. Far better than Tim did with the stool after he damaged the head on one of the screws!!!!daved wrote:What's with all this "the stand looks brilliant..............well done Stu" stuff? Stu didn't put it all up on his own you know
