Afternoon ladies and gents!
Hello all, my name is Matt and I drive an MG ZR 105+
I had the pleasure of meeting a few of you on sunday at the Rose Revived mini meet. I spoke to Neil and he suggested I join so here I am!
Well for anyone interested I'm 24 years old and a Video Editor. I am responsible for these videos which I'm sure feature some of the cars on this forum:

I'll try and attend some meets soon. Unfortunately my car is in th bodyshop after someone bumped into me on the way back from the meet

Re: Afternoon ladies and gents!
Hi Dave,
The damage is to the rear. It'll need a new bumper, slam panel (if thats what its called) possibly a bootlid but I'm not sure. I'm going to call the garage now to see whats happening.
I have already broken the Fiat Punto courtesy car so they have just dropped off a Citroen C4.
I'm gutted as the car was all ready to have the ZR160 brakes added to replace the awful 105 setup so I can get round 3 laps of Silverstone without dying!
I'd like to see the pics please Dave if you could post up a link that would be great, thanks! I'll get the others to sign up here too if thats ok as we're all pretty good friends (the silver MK2 was actually my brother)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys
I just rang the garage and they are waiting to hear back from the insurance company on weather or not they are prepared to fix the car. The damage is worse than they thought apparently and it will need new rear wings too. Its a 5 door if that majes any difference?
I won't find out till friday so fingers crossed!

Hi Matt
I still can't believe what happened to your car and really hope it is repaired
Here's a photo I took of you with Andy Knott (from the MGCC):

Haha thats not me Neil, thats the other Matt lol
We have the same name and the same colour car, sorry its hard to keep track
Mine is the 5 door, his is the 3 door. I suppose if mine is written off I'll have to get a different colour to differentiate between us!

Re: Afternoon ladies and gents!
... and sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you a little more at the meeting. I'm glad you found our meeting a good day out. Shame about the car. I hope it can be saved. I know my insurance company were going to write off my Rover 200 bubble when I dented the wing (!) purely on the basis that a new wing (they couldn't be ar**ed to straighten the old one) would cost too much and was difficult to get hold of. In the end , I said that I wouldn't bother claiming and part exed it for only £50 less than what I had agreed to part ex it for anyway! I doubt if this would be the case with you as your car is probably worth a tad more than my Rover was!
In summary, if they say it's a write-off, ask them if you can keep the car. Most insurance companies will pay a sum to you so you can get it repaired yourself. There are so many people able to supply discount/second hand parts that it may even mean you have money left for further mods!

As Matto says, visit our website and follow the instructions under the 'Join Us' link to become a full SmS member. I've just upgraded you forum membership from Newbie to Full Forum Member.
Rich.
Re: Afternoon ladies and gents!
Hi Rich
Thanks for upgrading me. I was going to fill in the form but I didn't want to in case I have a different car in a few weeks. I'll do it now and if it comes to that, I'll change it

Wise words indeed Rich and sound advice to any (modern) MG owner that find themselves in these circumstances.
