Not so Slick Shift
Hi All,
I have been pretty busy with the new job so not been on the site much and have not been able to make the last couple of Overstone meetings. I can't make this Thursday either bur for a much better reason - I am flying to Tobago Thursday morning :-)
Well, I finally got Lucky 13 back about 10 days ago after a few false starts. I was due to get it back and then a leak developed on the drive shaft oil seal. Then the next time I was due to pick it up the lock motor failed and the door deadlocked then the next time there was a leak on the slave cylinder. I think I was a bit premature christening her Lucky 13! A bit like the old joke, lost dog - three legs, one ear, blind in one eye, answers to the name of Lucky.
Anyway, amomgst all the other work I had done, I had the MS bellcrank kit fitted and the gearshift is less than slick. I know they spent a lot of time trying to set it up but getting into second and reverse is dodgy and overall gearshift is quite clunky. Maybe next time Russell is scheduled to come this way I will book him to look at it.
Hopefully I will be able to make the April Overstone meet and will try to get to as many weekend meets as possible
see you soon

Re: Not so Slick Shift
Keep up the good work Steve, hopefully you'll have a fully sorted car soon.
We have a job on Dawn's ZR that Russell reckons will take him less than 1/2 an hour. He's going to try and do it when he has another job in the area.
Anyone else need 'Russelling'?

Re: Not so Slick Shift
To be fair even Russell took 30 minutes to get it set up properly with me sat in the drivers seat. He. Said the tolerances were pretty tight. He's the man and I'm sure will get it sorted, worth it in the long run mate

Yes, I suspect that the key thing is having someone hold the gearstick in exactly the correct position as the adjustments are being made at the bellcrank
Of course, I am assuming Russell had you sat in the drivers seat to hold the gearstick not just to weigh the car down
