Ebay sucks!!

An ironically that is the name of the seller on ebay who sold me the head, which turned out to be pretty much scrap.

Got, it looks like its been stored outside, had no oil on it for protection, loads of white powder in the head, cam carrier hanging off, cam seals damaged, and slight indentions around the firing ring. Lifters looked rusty.

He even had the cheek to say wouldn't give me a refund, going through paypal now. Oh and to top it all the picture he used was stolen from redmans engines listing.

Bastard There are currently several nob heads on ebay as I have been dealing with one who bought a set of my zs door cards, I sent him the total invoice several times(including to myself as a copy) and as I had heard nothing from him I complained and he has the cheek to say that its me wasting his time for nhot sending the invoice not worth it sometimes.

anyway if it makes you feel better I have a spare head that is just waiting a final assemble that has had a minor skin to freshen the face up (less than a though iirc) the head is very clean and smells of parts cleaner (not the nice kind though lol) If your interested then you can have it for £75.

Just bought a fully recon one of eBay, seller proper rover guy and he answered all my questions correctly.

If this, the fourth!!!@ head turns out to he scrap I will come and take yours off you

Please don't I need my head from time to time, couldn't you just buy my spare cylinder head instead

Engine fully built but it has noisey lifter or.two, so much for fully reconditioned!!!

I'm hoping some valve lifter will solve it otherwise not sure what to do, I do have load of other lifters I can rebuild. Also at least I don't need to remove to head to fix the lifters.

But yet again eBay sucks!!!

Either it is a worn/faulty hydraulic lifter or its just a dry one and with some use it will quieten down once the oil has circulated within, as you say failing that you can always try some hydraulic lifter care treatment or replace the culprit for another with ease

That pretty much answers by question I emailed you then, I already have 16 lifters out of the other head, so I will spend some time cleaning them up then swap them over.

All cleaned out and back together running much better?

No, not yet, have been cleaning a re-assembling the lifters.

I think I might use my lower mileage cams of the spare engine as well.

Its now smooth as babies butt.. I am also now addicted the smell of the anaerobic sealant.

Just hope the new Head gasket holds now.

I'm sure the gasket will be fine.

I have a head gasket along with major service to do on my green F tomorrow so its all ready for the new owner next week
