Bike rack for the F!
Wasn't sure what section to put this under! Will a standard halfords bike rack fit on the MGF? Or is there one out the anyone can recommend? Will need to hold two lightweight xc full sussers!

Re: Bike rack for the F!
I don't recall there ever being a bike rack for the F/TF.
Just looked in my collection of brochures etc and only ever a boot rack and an option to have clamps on this for a snow board, no bike rack options.
How does the Halfrauds bike rack fit? Any pictures of the one your thinking of then may be able to give you an idea of weather it will fit or not.

Halfords high level rack is the one we have for the hatchback but looking at it earlier today couldn't see how it'd stay on lol

bungee straps, or if there is too much flex in the rack, ratchet straps
As it is designed for a hatch back it will most likely have something likea 45degree fixing angle between top and bottom arms. What your need is to make(modify) upper arms so these come forward more and then can be angle down towards the boot lid to be clamp/bolted onto the boot lid, leaving the lower arm to rest agaisnt the back of the car.

I just told Kate about this thread and she asked 'Why would anyone want to buy crack for their F?' ...

Just found a thread over on .org discussing this (have a look here) and the one in Rosco88's quote looks like it would clear the spoiler.
Also, take a look at Dieter's site here which shows some alternative ideas. Some of the text is in German only but as he points out, a picture says a thousand words!

Re: Bike rack for the F!
Might bring rack over Friday and have a play to see if it'll fit, or what will need doing to make it fit
What time is good Friday?

Well as you were planning to give Ollie an internal clean and Hoover I suggest quite early!
Better bring your camera too as your headrest will be sporting the MkII camera bar. Just needs the bit you've got to bolt on. More of this to follow in another thread when I've finished fiddling with other bits on TC and taken some pics to upload!
