MG TF160 - Sambomonkee
This is my new MG
Its an MGTF 160, 52 plate 51k miles, x-power grey, pretty much as new, Leather and Alcantara interior with tan decor (bit like Colins I think). Has grey soft top, although I thought it was meant to be black as it was a bit dirty
I believe the overheating is a badly bleed rad, as the oil and water was clear, and the owner said it had started to go wrong since he had a pipe that leaked replaced, so I doubt the garage bleed to system properly, probably didn't realise there where 3 bleed nipples.
And the best bit of all, all of that came at the price of £950
So what my other thread for goodies off the old F.

I would love too, but you about a month too early for me, plus its getting transported to me tomorrow. So no good, but I need a new exhaust for it so keep you ear to the ground, I am leaning towards a TT.

Nice, and a complete bargain if the problems are as easy to fix as you hope.

Daytona or Milltek.......esp good news as Brown and Gammons have the quad finishers for the Milltek, Quads for Daytona's seem to be O/S due to quality issues

You can listen to my TT mk4 sometime if you want. Are you going to Donnington on 16th?

How? its got 180 bend where as the TF has 90 degree, I cannot just change the cat to a MK1 as well, as there is a lamda sensor after the cat in the TF. Unless I am missing something here

Re: MG TF160 - Sambomonkee
you can just replace the cats and it will work, you just need to get if the mem3 remapped or I think you can just do elimiminate the sensor. The sensor after the cat doesn't realy do much i've been told, that why the early trophies didn't have it.

Re: MG TF160 - Sambomonkee
Colin can you confirm this, as I have the exhaust on ebay right know, and if don't need to sell it I wont, will not the extra lamba sensor just hang there and wont it cause a warning light to come on?
Off Topic, today I have sold 640 pounds worth of stuff off the old F, that's more than its probably worth as a whole. Its a lot of effort breaking the car, selling etc, but the financial gains are worth it.

Re: MG TF160 - Sambomonkee
if you look on my old thread called exhaust fitment I'm sure Matt confirms this , but have a look yourself.

Re: MG TF160 - Sambomonkee
The guru himself does indeed confirm it, the ECU just works it out, right the Miltek is no longer for sale.

Yeah was a bit loud wasn't it, and for no gain really. The decat has someone after it, so I will just stick the standard cat on the TF.

Re: MG TF160 - Sambomonkee
Stupid thing was, I had Gray alcantara in there before and then sold and put this in.
How about getting the red bits re-upholstered in green? Obviously when my bank balance has recovered
