Exhaust fitment
Here is a general question
to fit a TF exhaust to a f what would you need to do and to do the reverse.
The reason I ask is I've seen a scorpion exhaust at a good price and it's off and F and as I haven't brought a car yet I wanted to know if it would fit a TF ( or what I would have to do to make it)

Re: Exhaust fitment
If its a Trophy or mk2 F then the TF system will go straight on. If its a mk1 F then you will need the additional 90 degree elbow joint for the TF system to meet the Cat, or fit a mk2 F/TF Cat which has the extra length and bend on it.
If you don't have a secondary lambda sensor then you can either fit a lambda blanking plug or use an old lambda sensor or spark plug to fit in the lambda hole of the pipe.
edit;
As you mentioned about the reverse I take it that you are thinking of just swapping one exhaust from one car with another, if so then if it is a mk1 F then you will need to swap the Cat also, you can run mems3 without the second lambda sensor fitted(as per Trophy) and it will be fine as the ecu just puts the second sensor reading into default reading.

Re: Exhaust fitment
I reckon it is. Personally, I'm not a fan of the quad finishers but that's a pretty good deal whatever.

Re: Exhaust fitment

There you go 2000 vvc F with Aircon
And it's in London, even you can find your way down the M1

Re: Exhaust fitment
Better not come near Northampton either then. It's all kicking off in the town centre and in Wellingborough and Daventry who have areas locking down this afternoon...cejsmith wrote:... also I'm not insured to go into an active war zone
Perhaps we should all trade in our MGs and buy armoured cars, or even a fleet of tanks! Only thing is you would need a different kind of scorpion exhaust...

Re: Exhaust fitment
True aways fancied a scorpion tank, I think they where powered by 2 4.2 jag engines

Re: Exhaust fitment
This really is a quite bizarre situation. I guess things will inevitably kick off in MK too!
I have a colleague over from Germany doing some work for me in the Uxbridge area. Customer has just sent him back to the hotel and told him to phone one of them before thinking of setting out tomorrow!

Re: Exhaust fitment
Colin I think most 2000 reg vvcs were mems 3 so that one should be OK

Re: Exhaust fitment
Wellingborough has lots of police about, but no trouble. It was all just a rumour on facebook/twitter that caused the town centre shops to panic.Rich wrote:Better not come near Northampton either then. My guess is that the other areas are the same.

Re: Exhaust fitment
Mems 3 didn't not come in till 2001.
I still have most of the parts from my aircon, I know I got rid of the main under car pipes so will require new ones but should be able to pipe them up cheaply from a breaker if you wanted to retro fit it.

Re: Exhaust fitment
if only that was true. Kate had an increase in incidents reported at work this afternoon. It's just that a media blackout had been enforced that it wasn't all public. I was monitoring websites this afternoon where the BBC, Chronicle & Echo and Evening Telegraph were reporting stuff as it happened and then all of a sudden the links stopped working.Tony wrote:Wellingborough has lots of police about, but no trouble. Anyhow, back on subject once again... Colin, just buy the Trophy and be done with it. You know in your heart you'll have heaps of fun with it and with a couple of stripes from Lee, you'll be flying! And the Trophy did win the vote last Thursday, especially with those of a more in depth knowledge of all things MGF/TF...
