Lee,
My son is camping that week-end with the Army Cadets.
So I have a spare seat, if somebody needs it.
Is there a meet point after the start, to save going south to go north ?

I have a bit of an issue being honest-I don't think I can afford to do a 170 mile round trip
So I'll have to be counted out-sorry Lee

I could understand it if he was coming in the gas guzzling Zed but aren't Trophys supposed to be good on fuel as long as they aren't hammered all the way?Lee121 wrote:Ben PM sent.......BTW, its Sunday!!!!!!

Iain, just get up early and have a pleasant jaunt over! You don't want to miss this excellent run after all the work Lee has put into it. The day could be full of surprises!

The whole point of a Trophy is to hammer it..."the redline is there to be used"
I'm on a very tight budget unfortunately does the "place" charge an admission fee or to park?

Admission is free and parking is just £3. I have this information on good authority...

Looks like I've got another issue now...the Trophy is developing a stutter between 2-3k rpm and it's BLOODY ANNOYING! F******g cars.
So my weekend will be devoted to putting the R25 back together and finding the source of this stutter. Greaaaat...

Coil pack, plugs or HT leads have to be the prime suspects mate

It's only intermittent so I'm confused...plugs were replaced at last service but I might try swapping the coil packs out of the Streetwise as a first step. Matt has suggested checking the lambda values so I'll wait until the fault happens again then plug my trusty reader on. Hopefully it's just a blip and it'll never happen again but I fear not...

Re: Lee's Birthday Bash - 19th June 2011
My Trophy had an intermittent stutter.
It was normally when very hot, after a hard run.
I lubricated the throttle cable, by squirting 3in1 down it.
No problems since, but it may not be solved?

Re: Lee's Birthday Bash - 19th June 2011
Well with a bit of telephone based guidance from Matt the problem is diagnosed...we have a MAP sensor issue (better than an ECU though).
It's coming up now with a pending MAP sensor DTC and when looking at the live data, the MAP sensor value is stuck at 34. Only problem is a new genuine sensor from XPart is £95...unless Unipart come to the rescue tomorrow Matt has kindly volunteered a spare one (I did wonder out loud whether he has half a car stashed in his bedroom ).
Also, does anyone know if the VVC/non-VVC sensors are the same? As temporarily until I get a new sensor I'll rob the one from the R25 head gasket project I've got on the go.

All mems3 Map sensors are the same apart from Turbo, which are printed 'turbo' so you can't mix them up
oh btw I wont be attending the shin dig as I will be most likely tagging along with my dad to the MGOC Kimber run to see about getting on TV with him

Looks like I've sourced one from Unipart for reasonable money-so no worries about nicking one of your's Matt. Thanks for the offer and help-much appreciated and spot on as always

Yes, another great day, as you said Lee' Dave you will love it' you were so right. What interesting and advanced and innovative planes this country has produced over the years.
The 'F' line up at Cosford very impressive and I bet the Porsche drivers attending thought so too.
Had to duck away early to 'Kiddie watch' once more in deepest Suffolk............See you all again soon.
