MK4 TT Exhaust Prototype No. 0



Well as you all know wanted something different, and the Scorpion is becoming popular now. So I had to think a little harder. I saw the highly polished MK3 TT on EBay and decided that would be different, however it went before I could buy it. So I emailed Neil Willets and asked him if it had gone, and the reply was a Yes, so I sulked!



Then… I received another email from him, saying he has something else, a MK4 TT Prototype ready for trial that he was ready to sell. So I made it mine.



There are only 2 of these available he has one on his F and now I have one, I pooped to his on Sunday and we spent the day fitting it, actually took 3 hours which wasn’t bad but we did have to angle grind the old bolts off. He needed my car as a trial anyway due to the lack of feed back form the fitting of the MK3 to a TF so he wanted to do it first hand to help with the production of the MK4 and make fitting easy. So now I’m part of the development team as Neil put it, actually he’s a nice bloke so had a good day there yesterday helping out



So there it is I now have a unique exhaust that not available to buy yet and when the MK4 is available it’s likely to be different anyway, because it’s still early days in the development



Now for the really good bit, it purrs beautifully on start up like a proper exhaust should then when you open it up you get a sound like no other its loud with such a good deep powerful note, its crazy yet awesome, also I still have a CAT so that muffles things a bit, but the thought of what I would be like without it well I am sure you will all be able to imagine….. I have also gained lots of torque and throttle response too the car is now running like a dream………

Ooh sounds excellent.... have you got a set of his spangly new finishers on it as well? A truely unique mod excellent work.

I assume you've kept your old exhaust just in case of MOT issues?

there are only 1 lot of finishers at min so no can't have them plus they sre still a working progress as the stick out too much so much work to be done then....

Nice one DK, I guessed right then! So, if I can get my MK2 back on, and put the MK3 on someone elses, then we will nearly have the full set!

Have to say though, I am slightly sad that so many SMSers now have a TT! I liked the exclusivity of it. But, nevermind, at least we will be the noisiest group whenever we turn up at events! Perhaps we should all drive into SMC in High Wycombe again, as they loved the sound before, and this time we could probably make all the windows rattle!

Well you are the still the Earliest / First and the only MK2 amoungst us so you do have that under your belt!

I was thinking for the Oxford convoy, that we should try and get the MK3 on someones, and then have the full line up in the same convoy....

could be difficult though, as i'm not sure Andy will want to remove the Scorpian but you could try!!!

I'd try C-J but not sure if he's coming as not heard from him, plus swopping it on his would be PITA

I believe that everything is at the Slough site now... The lease at High Wycombe had run out and they decided not to renew.
