Pub Meet in Bucks - 18th May 2008

Ok, we are supposed to be having our next pub meet somewhere in Bucks! I have found a place that has enough space for us on a Sunday and it is The Swan, Great Kimble, HP17 9TR. We are having 2 convoys to the pub, one coming from Oxford, and one from Northampton.



Let us know if you would like to join either the Oxon or Northants convoy! The pub opens at 12, but we are aiming to get there for 11.45 to put all the cars together in the car park.

Oxford convoy

Start: Ozone, Kassam Stadium - meet at 10:10, leave at 10:20

Good question... Stew, any chance you could let us know the two you're considering? I could do some 'web analysis' and I could prepare a pair of pics for the website so there's one ready for which one you choose!

Yes, please add me to the list. How about the Old Queens Head in Penn? I've seen a Caterham club there a few times. Here's the website http://www.oldqueensheadpenn.co.uk/ It has good sized car park and is quite close to the A40 and M40 (East Wycombe).

Ok, going for The Swan, Great Kimble, HP17 9TR. I had hoped to go somewhere else, but this place is probably our best bet for fitting us in on a Sunday lunch time! I can't find any pics Rich, so will pop over there at the weekend and take one!

Now there's a question... We usually meet at about 11am but it depends on when the pub actually opens. We do tend to gather in the car park if the weather is nice, then head indoors for drinks and occasionally a meal. I'm sure Stewart will update the top thread when he can confirm details... Keep watching...

By the way, thanks for the suggestion of a venue. We'll keep it in mind for when the next Bucks meeting comes around (probably August).

Pub opens at 12, but I will go in there at the weekend to see if i can arrange 11.30 with them, so we can be sure of getting a good spot! Plus a like my first beer before 12!

I'm on an 18 mile hill walk in the Derbyshire dales on the 17th assuming paralysis hasnt set in, I'll make it on the Sunday... where's the convoy starting from?

We will probs go from the Toby Carvery where the 'usual' meet takes place. (If we don't then I normally get lost! lol) Poor me!

Yes, Max is correct. We'll meet at the Toby Carvery at 10am for the Northants convoy. It should give us plenty of time but as Stewart hasn't given us a time for the pub opening, I'm not sure if we'll be sitting in tht pub car park or directly heading for the bar when we get there! Of course, weather will have a say in it and if it stays like it is at the moment, we'll all probably be standing in the car park whatever...

Let me know and I'll work out the timings.

Fine by me - I'll go along with whatever suits everyone timing wise. I live near Maidenhead - so would prob be going that way anyway.

Ok, so we'll do a stop at West Wycombe, in the car park of the garden centre, just near the golden ball (hope that's still there, as not been there for ages!). It's just on the road that goes up to bledlow ridge. If you need post code for satnav, i'll try and find one! I'll work out timings for it all and post that later on.
